anybody had the amnio done or had it done before

hello girls..i haven't made up my mind about having the amnio done ...anyone please tell me what to expect...does it hurt? etc etc
what are you thoughts? are you going to have it done or not

I get my scan on Friday so will see what they say then.It will all depend on the results I guess x

We had an amino done at 15 weeks. Our DS result was 1:5 and I am 28. They tried twice to do a cvs but couldn't as my placenta was in the wrong place. We opted for amino as the vaginal version of the cvs well the mc rate was higher at my hospital, so waited out for an amino.

It didn't hurt, just felt weird, it was over very quickly and I could almost feel the fluid been syringed out of my tummy! It was very odd! But certainly didn't hurt xx

I had mine done too 3 weeks ago and if I decide to have another baby I would go right to the amnio again and skip the quad screening test. It did hurt very much. It was a lot easier than I thought. I actually have an o- blood type so i had to take the rhogan shot after the amnio and that was more painful than the amnio!!

Don't be afraid. Just make sure you have a good doctor to do the test. I am so glad I did it otherwise I would stress the whole pregnancy wondering if there was something wrong with my baby.

Im having it done no matter whether Im high risk or not so I probably wont get an NT scan. x
