hi, i just wondered if anyone else found it hard or worried about getting excited about being pregnant in case they jinxed it. i know it is abit silly but i really cant help myself, i darent even look at baby stuff in shops and i hardly ever talk about being pregnant- i just get so worried. i have 3 healthy children but have suffered two losses before (my last one in aug) and i know this is why i worry. im just over 11 weeks and have had a bit of spotting at 6 and 9 weeks but ive also had a scan at 6wks were i saw the heartbeat and again at 7, 9 and 10+5 and all were fine- so why am i still feeeling like this?

I'm in my 3rd Trimester and STILL feel like that. :hugs:

I think its a defence mechanism. I'd say its normal. We looked at prams today and I felt the same. OH wouldnt let me buy anything. I think we both feel the same.
:hugs:

I'm still worried too.
A little less worried after my 20WK scan but I still worry.

I have a sense of foreboding with this pregnancy, and I just don't know why. My hubby says I still may be in shock that I am pregnant as this one wasn't planned. He could be right. Another thing is perhaps all the uproar over the fact that in each year after 35 there is a risk. I'm almost 39.

I have a long wait until my first scan (April 15) and it's driving me crazy! Also, during my visit to the doctor last Tuesday, the doctor didn't locate the heartbeat. Yes, it is early and now I have another 4 weeks to wait for the doctor to check again.

Bought a doppler so will have to try and do it myself.

I've bought a bouncer seat and that's it. Until I know from the scan that all is well, I won't buy anything else.

yeah i think you maybe right about the defence mechanism, i think maybe thats the same for you leanne. good luck with your doppler - be patient! i got mine on thursday, i tried for ages to find the heartbeat with no luck and was really stressing myself out, my friend made me put it away and said try later after having something to eat and de-stressing myself i tried again and found it pretty much staight away!

I got my doppler the day after my doctor's appointment. I tried then but couldn't find it so I've put it away for a few days now and will try again soon. I don't want to stress over it :)

Ah i agree it can be hard to get excited as there is always something to worry about!!
i think i'll start to relax a little bit when i'm into the second trimester, but sayin that i'm already worrying about my tests and the 20 week scan.
I dont think it ever ends lol

yeah, these things can cause even more worry:headspin: try trying before you go to bed and it should be quite low, on the bikini line and either slightly to the left or the right, move it really slow as its really easy to miss also i have noticed using a lot of gel seems to make a difference, oh and make sure your all streched out!! good luck and i hope you do hear it soon x:happydance:

I also read that a full bladder helps and I have that a lot.

What kind of doppler do you have? I bought a hi-bebe and it looks like a good one :)

No, where I am here in Canada we get one scan at around 20 weeks. When I saw my doctor on Tuesday he wanted me to go in around 17 weeks (which would be March 25th or so), BUT the ultrasound clinic couldn't get me in until April 15th. UGH! The waiting!

All of you make me jealous with your 12 week scans!

Thank goodness, since my last pregnancy 5 years ago, private clinics have come to Canada. I plan to take advantage of a private 4D scan sometime in May and will probably go back in sometime in my 30 weeks.

Also in April I will be having an amnio test.

Seems like April will be an eventful month, including my turning 39. Maybe I should be crying instead of laughing!

Are you due the first week of September or so?

I believe I am. Not 100% sure of my LMP and actually feel like I am further along. That's another reason why I want the scan done!

I am due for another planned C-section though and they deliver at 38 weeks so I'll have the baby around August 22nd if my timing is right.
