Hiiya, I'm Laura, newb =)

Just a question, I'm about 12 and a half weeks pregnant now, just passed the morning sickness stage, however recently I've been affected by migraines. I have had them in the past but a long time ago, and they were rare, but recently it's been quite often. Anyway, I was just wondering whether anyone else is affected by migraines brought on by pregnancy, and whether they have anything that helps?!

I've been told that paracetomal can be taken, but obviously it's not been proven either way if they can affect the babe, so I don't like to take them unless I'm desperate.

Thank you!

OMG yes! I had at least a month long period where I was getting them everyday..woke up with one and if I didn't take anything for it it lasted all day long...finally got a bottle of tylenol extra strength and it helped tremendously. still get head aches once in a while, but no where near as bad as they were around the end of the first tri..

Cant say thats me. But i have to say about the tylenol extra strength
I bought some of that yesterday for my side and my pain for all those ligaments streching, and that helped a lot.
So i'm glad it worked for that girl too. Maybe you should try it? =]

I don't know really, can't say I had them. Do you want me to move this for you in First trimester, you might get better replies?

I have gotten really bad migraines since about 12 weeks to. You can take tylenol or for over there I guess it is Paracetamol cause they have been proven to not cause any problems. Don't take acetaminophen (advil) or Asprin though because they both have a blood thinning agent in them and that is why you can not take them during pregnancy. I promise you though having paracetamol will be a lifesaver once you start getting even more aches and pains and migraines hun. They wouldn't tell you you could take it if there was any doubt there was a problem with it.

actually, acetaminophen is tylenol....advil is basically ibuprofen
otherwise I think you're pretty much right :)

lol woops thats what i meant... i always blank out when doing the actual medical names. That would be right though cause my mom got me a bottle of generic Acetaminophen not ibuprofen for christmas.:dohh: But yeah its ibuprofen and aspirin that have the blood thinners...
