I have been given some but really dont want to take them, i dont even think he was going to give me them but i said... do i get antibiotics after this and he said yeah i can treat you like that no problem and i nodded... does that mean he thinks i wanted them? xx

I think you should check what they are for. I didn't get any, but ended up taking 2 rounds few weeks later for UTI, but I don't think everyone needs to. Give the hospital a call

I wasnt given antibiotics but have heard of people who have. They told me the signs to look out for infection and if i got those then to get antibiotics from my doctor.

The EPAU just gave me a variety of painkillers.

I'd call your doctor to find out if there is a reason why you got it.

Hi! I had some- but only because I was showing signs of infection. They didn't work anyway because I had retained tissue and apparently antibiotics aren't effective until the retained products are removed. I had a 2nd erpc- then needed another 3 lots of antibiotics anyway. I think if they are concerned enough to prescribe them they need to scan and check there's nothing left behind. Good luck :hugs:

they only gave me them because i said... do i get antibiotics? he said well yeh i can treat u like that and then gave me them... i think they giving me terrible tummy tho as i have terrible trapped wind :( xx oh and i phoned hosp, they said if i been prescribed them then to take them

oh poor you! :hugs: so your none the wiser! the problem with antibiotics is that you really need to finish the course once you start them and they really do play havoc with the harmless bacteria as well as the ones they are supposed to tackle
!

Might be worth getting some probiotic stuff to help restore the balance of your gut flora- like acidophilus (sorry incorrect spelling!) from a health food shop?

Did I read somewhere your taking doxycycline? I had that too as well as 2 others and that is the ab of choice for pelvic infections so thats good. Problem is it made my nose burn! I've still got a ludicrously red nose now and I stopped taking them a week ago!
