I was induced with ds1 at 38+1 due to gestational diabetes.
From beginning to end was just over 33 hours, and was quite traumatic as cord was round his neck, and ended in ventouse and a 4 day Nicu stay.

I'm due to be induced tomorrow with ds2. I was wondering what ladies experiences are with a second induction and if it was quicker or easier etc??

Thanks :-)

I've been induced three times now, first was at 32 weeks as our son was still born so that induction was really a bit of a blur as I had so much gas/air and morphine as I didn't want to feel the physical pain but I do remember I had him very shortly after my waters were broken. From beginning to end it lasted 14 hours. My second and third induction mirrored each other, induction process started with the pessary at 11am, waters broken at 5pm and had my eldest daughter at 20:27 and my youngest at 20:20 so my second and third inductions were 9 hours approx. All three inductions went very smoothly, again with my daughters after my waters were broken things progressed very quickly and with all births I was only pushing for a max of 20 mins before each baby was born. Good luck tomorrow, hope everything goes really well for you.

My first I was induced at term due to high bp. First pessary had ni effect. 2nd pessary at 6pm and labour started at midnight. There were complications and dd born at 10.30am. Was not a positive experience.
My 2nd I was induced with what the call propess. They put it in cervix and leave for 24hrs. Mine was in at 10.30am. No pains until 3am. Quite sore at 03.20 so begged midwife to examine. Was 4cm. Ds born at 03.50am so very very quick but also very positive experience.
So 2nd induction for me was so much quicker and better,
Good luck x
