Just wondered what they do?

I have an appointment tomorrow, bit nervous don't know what to expect

thanks :flower:

I went about 6 years ago but here's what I remember.
you have an MRI
they use a hammer to check your reflex of your legs & arms
you hold your arms out & close your eyes
they use cotton wool on your arms & legs to check if you can feel it.
They ask you questions ( cant really remember them think its about holding things & how you feel etc )
watch you walk up & down the room.

I can only tell you what happened to me it might depend what your being checked for i'm sure some things may have changed in the last 6 years.

I know its only natural bot try not to worry hun. good luck & I hope everything goes ok for you.

This is where they refer a child or adult to with difficulties also, fortests, my son is going to see a pediatrition about his autism, but i read a neurologist also diagnoses this and does tests, like mri also, did they tell you why you are being refered.

I have had problematic headaches/migraines for a few years which have got significantly worse since the beginning of this year. I was referred to an ENT specialist who ordered a CT scan which showed my sinuses are clear but the radiologist deemed I needed an MRI. I had that on Friday and as a result I have been referred to a neurologist. I got the call on Saturday morning from the ENT specialist and he said to expect the neurologist to call today but I haven't actually had one yet.

In short, no I haven't yet seen one but I am terrified having been told what is wrong but no clear diagnosis IYSWIM?

I hope it goes well, let me know how you get on, either on here or by PM.

I went, was with him for over an hour, he did lots of tests vision, reflexes, strength.

Thanks for your replies x

I've just caught up.

Did he give you any indication when you will hear back and have a diagnosis?

I am seeing one on Wednesday but I know what the problem is, at least in part.

Yes I have proximal myopathy, waiting on blood test and x-ray results now
