Anyone else doing injectables? Gonal-F, Bravelle, etc.?

TTCFirst, that is one beautiful chart you have there! I don't put a lot of stock in those things anymore, but it's always good to see things look that textbook perfect.

I'm 2 dpo today, although my temp spike was pretty pitiful. I don't have a lot of faith in this cycle, so that's fine. We are confirmed IVF next round, so whenever AF comes I'll be starting the BCP. This will be a very boring month.

Camping sounds lovely! :cloud9: Where do you go? We weren't able to do as much this summer as I hoped because of all my treatment. Are you going to test before you go?

And your last comment confuses me a bit--are you planning on IVF next cycle, too? Or do you mean from this cycle? I counted out, and it appears that EC would be somewhere around October 19-21st, which sounds like FOREVER from now! :dohh: I'm hoping this cycle is your last! :winkwink:

thanks for the comment about the chart. I'm with you though, I try to pay attention to the chart just for O. I have to say, I have some great looking charts. I just wish they would be followed by a BFP and not AF. lol

As you your O, it depends on how you look at it. You had a lot of temps in the 97.5 range and after O you are at 98.1. That's a big jump. It just didn't jump much from the 2 days before O.

Could you imagine getting your BFP this month? lol Did you hit the right days? I have heard of people getting their BFP at the strangest times.

We are going to the Fort Erie area. It's going to be me, DH, lo, the dog, and another couple. We stay in trailers and the other couple decided to get their own to avoid the lo and the dog. They felt it would be crowded. lol

I am not going to test. The clinic likes us to do a pg test at 14 days but I hate to get the BFN. I am not even clear on my O this month. I triggered on CD14 and got a spike then a fall. I got another spike on CD17. I went for my O check on CD17 and they said I had Oed. I can't decide if I Oed the day of my trigger on CD14 or CD17 when I went and they confirmed that I had Oed.

I will be gone till Friday. If I take CD14 at my O then 14 days would be Wednesday. If I take CD17 at my O then 14 days would be Saturday. It would be nice to come back to a BFP. They say that people get PG on vacation, not sure if vacation is to fall during O or TWW but lets assume TWW. lol

I am not too familiar with the IVF process so I was thinking that after AF you would be doing your IVF. When I over stimulated they were willing to turn it into a IVF cycle so I didn't know that you needed to wait to do IVF. Is there some process that needs to be followed?

Hope camping is going well! :happydance:

IVF protocols vary a lot, and I'll be doing the long protocol. That means three weeks of birth control pills before I start the stims. So I think the earliest I would have ER would be around October 19th. Yawn. Seems so far away!

I think CD14 is your O day and you have a bit of a fallback rise. It's common, and apparently can even be a good sign. But time will tell. Your chart still looks great, so FX! :dust:

Don't worry, October will come in no time. I wonder why they put you on the BC pill.

Camping went well, lots of walking and we did some fishing. DH started fishing and really likes it now. He showed his friend how to fish and now he is into it also. The fishing was in the same park we stayed in but it was over a Km away. We walked to and from the location several times a day. I am so pooped and ready for a rest. lol

So we started our trip on the Monday and guess who came on Tuesday....AF!!! Needless to say, there was drinking involved this weekend.

Not sure if I told you this so I will tell you again. I keep thinking "one more month" and it's so frustrating. I went to the doctor for the referral to the FS and was told 6 more months before they can refer me. I was so excited after 5 months and thought one more month till I go to the FS and they will help. Then I go to the FS and they say they have to monitor me so one more month till they will help. Then I go on clomid and it didn't work so one more month till I can go on injectables. Then I over stimulated and they said that the next month they would give me a lower dose so it would be one more month. Then I had one follicle and they said that now they know I need a dose in between so it will be one more month. That brings us to now.

Now here is the problem. Since I was away and I started my O on Tuesday, I haven't been able to go to the clinic for my CD3. I got back home today and I am going in in the morning which is CD5. Now I don't know if I will be able to start Gonal on CD5. Is it going to be "one more month"? :nope:

THis is so frustrating!

Booooooo! Sorry for AF. I had been wondering if you were about to get a bfp. I'm with you on the one more month thing. That's one of the maddening things about LTTTC. I really hope they let you do the injectables this month. Let me know.

I'm out for this month, but not sure when AF will come. I guess I'm excited about IVF, but I looked at the stats last night and I started to feel really hopeless for the first time. The prognosis is a lot worse than I realized.

Glad camping was good, anyway!

Well I went to the clinic and they said injectables can not be started on CD5 so all I can take is Clomid or Letrozole. I figured it's worth a try. Since it didn't work last time they decided to double the dose. I am on Clomid CD5-CD9 and go for U/S on CD10. I really hope that this will give me a couple follies. I want to try an IUI.

I also went to get Guaifenesin but I haven't decided what day to start that. I just thought that maybe I should be doing the grapefruit again. I don't feel that I have enough CM because I don't get EWCM.

I'm glad you got AF and now you can start on your IVF cycle. 40 day cycle...those suck!

You never know with IVF, it has worked for so many people struggling for so long. Keep me posted on your process.

hello. I'm starting gonal f on CD3 at 150 units this coming cycle.

It doesn't look at the promising. Is there any hope?

Lily, it definitely can work! TTCFirst and I just responded badly. We're in the minority, so FX you'll have better results.

Ttcfirst, the clomid could work! Good luck to you!

Howdy! :howdy: I found myself wondering what was up with you earlier today. Looks like you're doing a Clomid cycle? How's it going.

:hugs:

Hi ladies, would love to join this thread, we are currently ttc baby no2 after successfully giving birth to my dd back in 2011. DD was conceived as part of a puregon cycle with timed bd due to my PCOS. I am currently on CD7 of my first puregon cycle this time round and have been injecting since CD4, I have my first scan next Tuesday to see if any follicles are developing so hopefully I will see something happening. Looking forward to getting to know you ladies x

I am in a similar situation...2 negative IUIs and going on to injectibles. Did they say why your IUIs didn't work, even though you had 3 follies? I only had one, so we are hoping for more...

Thanks for sharing!

Hey pbl_ge. Based on my history on Gonal (over stim then under stim) the doctor said that they would use the middle dose and all should be fine. I was all excited and went camping. When I came back it was too late to start gonal so I had to do Clomid. I had already tried Clomid but only ended up with one follie. They doubled the dose and I had two but one stopped growing. That was a waste of a cycle.

This month I was able to do that middle dose of Gonal. I went to the doctor and I had 2 mature and several smaller (between 1 and 1.4). The doctor said I could trigger or wait another day to get additional follies. He said he didn't know how many would be above 1.6 and that if it were too many he may not "recommend" the IUI. I said heck as long as you don't cancel it I'm waiting.
Turns out the next day that I had about 9 follies 1.5 an above. It was a different doctor that day and he said it's not likely that I was going to end up with a huge number of babies and said go ahead!

So I had my first IUI today!!!! :happydance::happydance::happydance::happydance:

Now I am so scared. We really really want twins and it is such a possibility at this point. But I can't imagine taking care of 2 babies!!!

I have my fingers crossed, one of those darn 9 better catch.

So, what's going on with you now?

Hi to the new ladies! :hi: This thread has always been a bit odd, but I hope it's useful to you. I'm now doing IVF with injectables.

TTCFirst, congrats on your first IUI! :happydance: Hope it works for you. Will they be able to tell you how many follies O'ed? 9 sounds like a lot--I'm surprised they didn't monitor it more than that. FX just for one or two, right?

I'm FINALLY starting the stims of the IVF tomorrow. :yipee: It's been over a month waiting to even begin. But now I think things will happen pretty quickly. If you want to stay tuned, you might need to visit my journal, as I likely won't put the details here. :flower:

Good luck to you this month!!! :dust:

So it looks like your IVF will be today. I can tell you...I know a girl who has been trying for 4 years and she has had many failed IUI's. Last time I spoke with her she was just waiting for her IVF. I just spoke to her the other day and she was 8 weeks pregnant. Lets hope you get the same luck.

You did injectables, did you end up with lots of follies? We are experts in that area!

They said that if I want to go back to confirm my O then I can. I guess they would be able to tell how many I Oed. I just assume I Oed them all. The doctor said it's not likely that I will end up with a ton of babies. I guess that the ones that make the news tend to scare people. We really really want twins so I have my fingers crossed.

I wasn't feeling too good for the bast couple days. My O was really crampy and I guess the HSG shot made it all worse. I am feeling a lot better today. I am just hoping my TWW goes really quick.

So it seems that we will have the same tww.

Alas, I'm only starting the injections today. :nope: Egg retrieval and transfer are still weeks away!

You are still on the road! :happydance: That's exciting!

At least this time you are ok to have lots of follies. I wish you all the follies you need in order to get a BFP!

I've been wondering something since hearing about people doing egg sharing. How do we know if there is something wrong with our eggs? I have done tests like the HSG and Saline Sonogram, and a million blood tests. But what if I am going through all this and I don't have good eggs? Have you had any tests for that? I would hate to be doing all these meds and a IUI then find out that my eggs are no good.

I think I will do a new post on that and see if anyone knows.

I'm pretty sure I know that answer: At present there's no test for egg quality. The only way they know is when doing IVF--how many fertilize, how many grow, etc. And then it's in the context of an abnormal cycle that may have resulted in different eggs than your body typically produces. That's why there's no infertility diagnosis of "poor eggs," even though that's clearly the problem for some couples. :nope:

Will they let you produce the eggs for egg share if you're over 35?

FX this is a conversation you won't even need to worry about! :winkwink:

In Canada the amh can tell some about eggs as do your other hormones but yes until IVF you don't know the true quality.

Yes, AMH! That's true. :dohh: But isn't that quantity, not quality?
https://www.advancedfertility.com/amh-fertility-test.htm

Thanks ladies. I did hear about AMH and I knew it was quantity but I don't know if it does test quality.

I gotta ask one other thing so I am hoping that you guys are just as knowledgable.

I am really trying not to symptom spot but this was impossible to ignore. DH went out last night and I was left home with my foster babies (two under 10 months). The evening was fine till I started to feel pressure around my uterus. It was like someone was pushing their whole hand on it. I thought maybe I just had to go to the washroom. I went and did my business but the pressure was getting worse. I finished up and went to lay down in the living room. It continued and I also started to get nauseous. I then went to the washroom again not sure if I was going to go to the washroom again or throw up. While in the washroom this time I got really sweaty and felt like I was going to pass out. It was so bad that I got up and had to go lay down in bed. I could barley pull up my pants because I was so sure that I was going to faint on my way. I laid down and little by little it got better over the next 20 minutes or so. The symptoms cleared up and I am now just left with the slightest pressure.

I have never felt this bad in my life!! I am only 4 dpo today and had my IUI the day before this occurred. I really shouldn't feel any symptoms so I'm confused. I looked this up and I can't find anyone else who experienced the same thing.
