Hi ladies,

Is anyone else feeling Braxton hicks yet?

I got my first one this pregnancy the other day and I've had at least 1-2 a day since, but today, well this evening I've had loads. They are not painful, just the familiar tightenings that I remember from my previous pgs. I'm just really surprised that I'm getting them so early. Baby is moving fine, so everything feels ok.

Anyone else??

It's quite normal. Only muscle tightenings. That's all the uterus is. Is one big muscle. I have been having them since about 15weeks :) x as long as there not painful & regular then there nothing to worry about x

I have had them from about 16 weeks. Mainly if I walk to much, get up quickly or eat too much

24 weeks isn't too early to be getting them, I don't think. In my 1st pregnancy I felt them shortly after 1st tri. Same thing this time around. Feeling them a lot now as was on my feet most of the day doing housework.

Yes I've been getting loads recently but been told not to worry if it's not painful :)

Ok thank u ladies.

I kept thinking it was just me lol. They are more annoying then anything and I hoped it would be a while longer before I got them. Xx

Each pregnancy has got worse and worse for me, BH-wise. I didn't notice a single one with my first baby; with my second I felt them towards the end and with my third I was getting them all the time from about 20 weeks onwards! This time it's been about the same. Every time I lie down at night my uterus tightens right up and it's quite uncomfortable. I also get cramps really low down after I've been walking for a while.

I have an Irritable Uterus, so I get them all the time, except whereas BH don't show up on hospital monitors, mine do. In my first pregnancy, they started in the third tri, in my second pregnancy they started in the second tri, and this time they started at 8 weeks! :dohh:

What do they feel like?? I was thinking earlier today I might have been feeling some lately.. It's my first pregnancy so I don't know what they're supposed to feel like and I asked my sister who's just had a baby if she ever had any and the ones she said she had sound much more extreme and painful than what I've been feeling... I've just been getting this tightening feeling in my lower stomach maybe once or twice a day that lasts for a couple of seconds. Think it's been happening for the last couple of weeks. At first I thought it might have been the baby making a biiig movement, like flipping over or something, 'cause it just felt like everything temporarily got a lot tighter! Is that what they feel like..?

Yup... I'm getting them. In fact, 10 minutes ago I had one. This was the first one that I had any discomfort with though... it felt like I had pain in my lower back like I do when I get AF and then my stomach got very hard. DH felt it and was like woah.

Your entire stomach gets rock hard, so when you poke it, there's like no flab at all (at least in my case). Once it's over, my stomach has the normal "squish" to it I guess? lol

Oh.. I've never tried feeling my stomach when it happens!

I thought it was odd to possibly have it this early but it was brought up in the November Sparkler's thread and it made me think that where I had thought it was Pickle moving around and pushing up against my tummy, that it was actually BH as my whole uterus got hard. There are still times I can tell it's just Pickle rolling around though.

I mostly get them when I lay down in the evening.
