I had my 3rd baby 4weeks ago now and couldnt believe how long my first stage labour was. I have always had long first stage labours with all of my babies but my 3rd baby took the top of the list. I went into labour a week before my due date but he wasnt born until a week later plus he was 2day late. He weighed 8lb 1oz and my other babies labours was long aswell. My lg was a week from monday to friday and she weighed 6lb 6oz and my other lb was 23 hours and he weighed 7lb 12oz. Has anyone elses labours been like this or longer?

When you say 1st stage do you mean active labour, 4cm and regular contractions?
I didn't have that but with DD I was in "early labour" from 36 weeks. I started contracting and got to 3cm dilated. From then until DD was born I had daily contractions (as well as the usual BHs) but didn't progress past 3cm. My actual labour started in the middle of the night and she was born at 1.39pm- I'm not sure how much of it was active labour as I was 8cm when I got to hospital, but I'd guestimate at about 7 hours.
She weighed 8lb.
With my DS (my first) I didn't have anything like that- I was induced via pessary and my labour took 6 hours start to finish. He weighed 9lb 15oz.

My first stage lasted 3 days. My son was born weighing 6lbs 8.5oz

My first stage started at 5am on Monday morning and my son was born at 9.10am on Thursday morning. I was contracting every 15mins for 3 days with odd contractions coming faster (every 6 mins) and slower (every 20mins). It was 4 days of hell. Finally Wednesday night I was checked (for the 3rd time that week) and I was 4cms. So they have in my hospital notes of having laboured for 11hrs when really it was 76hrs...... My son weighed 7lbs 4oz!!! I really hope this long labour was a fluke and won't happen again - if it does I will demand to be induced!!!!

I was in labour for 4 days but according to midwives i wasnt in active labour until the 3rd night and 4 th day even tho i was having contractions every 2-5 mins but i was dilating at all until then. My lo weighed 7lb9 and was exactly aweek early.

My labour was 40 hours in total... Exhausting! Couldn't tell you how long each stage was though... What counts as first stage? My baby weighed 8lb1.

I went into labour (early latent phase) Saturday lunch time and baby was born the Wednesday at 3:10 am he was born at 40+10 and weighed 7lb 15oz x

Me...and i hate it and its actually causing me a lot of anxiety over giving birth again :(

My water always breaks first, then contractions start about 5 minutes apart from the get go. It takes me 25-30 hours just to go from 2cm-4cm (i usually start out a little dilated...though im not dilated at all this time, so now im having even more anxiety that things will take even longer ) Then once i get to active labor (4cm) it isn't too abnormal, but the thing is i am contracting 2,3,4,5 minutes apart for a day and a half before i even get to the super hard part. I hate it. I wish i was one of those lucky ladies who walks around 5cm for weeks and then bam! has a baby. My first labor was 29.5 hours long (from first pain to baby) and my second was 31.5 hours long (from first pain to baby)..i seriously want to cry. i wish i would just give birth already so i dont have to live in anxiety over the next few weeks :( I dont mind being pregnant, even though this pregnancy has been really hard on me, but i just dont want to be a ball of nerves for the next several weeks  Sorry to be so emotional, it's just really bothering me right now :(

DS1 was born at 41+5 and weighed 7lbs 10.2oz 20.5in long
DS2 was born at 38+3 and weighed 7lbs 4oz and 20 in long.

I am only 5 foot 1

My labour started (4cm dilated) on Friday lunch time and I had lo on Sunday 11:57am, lo was 10lb 1oz xx

71.5 hours from first contraction to birth. She weighed 7lb 9oz

I was in labour from Saturday...and little one was born 4 day after...he was a whopping 10lb! xx

I was in prodromal labour from 37 weeks to 40+4 (where I had regular contractions all day that fizzled out at night), and active labour (4cm+) for 56 hours. Ugh. She weighed 6 lbs and 2 oz!

19 hr labor with my first, and she weighed 8lbs 6oz and was 23 inches long

This is our first child and I didn't even know what contractions where like until 5 cm. The Monday before we went into labor the doctor told me I was 4 cm and was shocked I had no pain or anything. Who knew *shrugs* Anyway, Aug 1st the Thursday, I finally went into labor. When I got to the hospital I was a 5 a few hours later a 6 and then I held that for a bit. That was from about 11pm until about 2 am. I was put on pitocen at 2 am on Aug 2nd. At 6:30 I started to push and our girl was here at 8:01am Aug 2nd weighing 9 lbs 3 oz, 22 inches. (didn't think she'd be that big). So all in all from where I would count my actual labor pains I was in labor for about 11 to 12 hours. I'd say it was a very easy labor in my opinion with such a large baby.

yeah 11-12 hours is actually a very nice "short" labor for a FTM. The average FTM labors for around 17 hours, give or take. and some take 24+ hours...so actually i wouldn't consider that a long labor in the least!

37 hrs of pre labour and 4 hrs of active with DS1 he was 8lb 4oz. 2nd DS 20 hrs of pre labour 3.5 hrs of active labour and he was 9lb.

My first stage of labour was 3 days, final stage was an hour and a half. LO was 9'11 when she was finally born!
