Due to the position of my baby girl, I had a csection...a bikini cut, as well as a vertical incision(under the skin no scar)
...I was told by dr's that I can never have a VBAC as its a higher risk than a normal csection delivery.
Anyone have advice on this? a friend of ours said that i should still be allowed to try for a vbac with my next baby. I dont know.

You had what is known as a Classical c-section rather than the more usual Lower Segmental c-section. It unfortunately carried a higher risk of scar rupture during labour, and as far as I know all obstetricians would strongly advise against VBAC in your situation.

I had this. At my 6 week follow up the doctor said I could try for a vbac next time if I wanted (he hadn't read my notes though so didn't know I can't have a vaginal birth due to my pelvis shape)

i just wouldn't risk it but you could get several dr's opinions

the risk of scar rupture from vertical incision is far higher. personally i wouldn't but i'm sure there is plenty of literature out there on the risks. i do believe alot of hospitals would not allow it though xx

Thanks ladies:) yes the risk of doing a vbac after a regular c-section is 3-4%, and the risk of attempting a vbac after a vertical incision is 7-8% so the risk is higher. I'm not sure what I will do next time.
I guess I will have to wait and see. I just know how difficult this recovery is, with a toddler and newborn...I can't imagine 3 kids lol!
