I'm starting to get a little concerned about my son's milestones. He'll have his 15 month check-up in a few weeks , but so far the doctor hasn't pointed out any red flags.

He started pulling up and cruising at 10 months, and just a few days ago started standing for a few seconds on his own. But he doesn't walk independently. Most children I know started walking around 12 months, but I know there's a range. I'm just curious to know about other late walkers.

DD will be 17 months next week, she started standing independantly about 2 months ago and walking independantly 2 -3 Weeks ago. She's been cruising for quite a while and walking whilst holding a hand ( 200-300m) for a few weeks. She can only manage a few metres alone but improving very quickly. She was a very fast crawler and quite tall for her age she didn't seem to feel the need to pull up past her knees for a long time.
a while ago on facebook 2 friends posted videos the same day of first steps, one baby was 11 months and one was 20 months

Both nieces and nephew were over 16 months before they walked. 2nd niece was closer to 18 months, could crawl so she was happy to do that. All 3 are dancers now, absolutely no issues with mobility or growth. My nephew isnt 3 until October yet speaks great, is potty trained and drinks out of cups perfectly well. My son on the other hand walked at 9 months old, can play football great, climbs everything but doesn't speak and isn't potty trained (and he's 2 months older) I wouldn't worry, they just do things in their own time x

Thanks mamas for the reassurance! :) I'm not one who usually worries, but I've just been doing too much reading I guess.

My little girl was a little late for gross motor skills. She started crawling just before 10 months. For a good while she‘d get up on her knees. I think she was close to 14 months when she started pulling herself up to standing and started walking independently at 15 months.

My doctor was never worried and she‘s running everywhere now, almost able to jump up as well :)

My little one has always been behind on motor skills (she's 2 and still struggles using a fork and spoon). I work with her as well as I can, and she always meets the milestone within the time frame. Walking... I'm not sure exactly when it happened. It was after her first birthday, as we have pictures of her at her party (which was a week after her actual birthday) where we were holding her hands and helping her learn to move her feet. I think it was closer to 14/15 months, but I could be wrong. When she started walking, though, it was overnight. One day she couldn't, and the next she was everywhere. Some babies seem to learn slowly, starting with crawling, then cruising, then walking. Some - like mine - seem to get the hang of it right later but overnight. I wouldn't stress over it until your toddler reaches 18 months. I bet you'll have a walker soon. Just keep encouraging cruising, and get a push walker (that's what got mine walking I think) if you don't have one yet.
