Hi ladies! :)

As the title says - anyone else? We are having ours on the 4th of October with family andf can't wait! I had a chat with the baker yesterday and we got a design for the cake :) I know babycentre says doing the cake is "oh so two years ago", but I think it's special. I am carrying our rainbow and feel we need to celebrate him/her and know I will not have a babyshower this time so the gender reveal is making up for it.

We are going with little ducks and yellow. The invitation said "waddle it be?"

As a baker, I ave been desperate for someone to ask me to do a gender reveal cake! I think it's a lovely idea :)

Gender reveal parties aren't as popular here in Scotland as they are elsewhere, even baby showers are only just starting to take off :)

Around here it is not as common either so I am excited to be the first one to introduce it to my family and friends. I heard of them being done here, but don't know anyone personally that's done it except for my one friend that now lives in the USA.

The baker will colour the vanilla cake either pink or blue inside and then cover it with blue fondant. I will have some soft clouds on and a rainbow since this is our rainbow and then a duck with two ducklings carrying a banner that says "waddle it be?" :) I am going to make small packets of popcorn and some duck sugar cookies. Will have all sorts of sandwiches to snack on and then the cake for last. I am thinking of filling little baby bottles (have some left after arranging a babyshower for a friend a few years ago) with sweetened condensed milk.

We had a small party last week when we found out. Hubby and I were the only ones that knew, and we wanted to surprise our families the next day. We just made it simple, since I am not good at planning stuff lol. We got reservations at our favorite Mexican restaurant, in a part of it that wouldn't disturb other customers. Then I got 3 pink balloons and 3 blue balloons, a bunch of pink/blue sixlets candy, Hershey's kisses wrapped in pink/blue and tiny margarita cups to put the candies in. Then I took pink/blue straws and tied a note to it with pink/blue twistie ties. We had our families untie the note from the straw to reveal it. It said "Welcome Josie Quinn!", since we are having a girl :) If it were a boy, it would have said "Welcome Oliver James!". It was a lot of fun. We got a couple gifts, even though we did not ask for any, but they were so thoughtful.

Have fun with your party! It sounds like lots of fun! :)

That sounds like so much fun! I wish I could have a gender reveal party. However, I disowned my entire family and OH has a really really small family all spread out across the US. Don't listen to others, just do what makes you happy!! I hope you post a picture of your beautiful cake when the time comes!!

We had a gender reveal party last year with DD. That one happened to fall on my birthday which was perfect. This year my family and friends asked us to do the same, but we did a gender reveal photo shoot instead. OH was the only one who knew and surprised me during the shoot with need of DD#2! Gender reveals are the best! Enjoy your party.
BTW your theme is cute and creative!
