I feel like a total failure!! I have a friend who is pregnant at the mo a few weeks further along than myself and she is taking it all in her stride. Meanwhile I can barely get myself dressed in the morning, the housework has gone to pot I seem to spend all day every day trying to think of things I may be able to eat without being sick. Dh is looking after me so well but I feel like he's going to get fed up if I don't pull my finger out soon......I'm just so ill and exhausted all the time!! Please tell me I'm not the only one! xxxxxxxxxxx

you aren't honey. my OH is having to wait on me hand and foot pretty much. if i'm not at work, i'm asleep. and even when i am at work, i'm trying not to sleep. i'm in the middle of a 10 hour shift that runs to 11pm today and i'm not entirely sure how i'm going to make it that far... ha.

abz xx

You are not the only one!!

I stayed home from uni today as I was just too tired to go. Not good, I can't stay home every time.

Like you I plan my days around what I feel like eating, except I have no energy to do it. My husband is going grocery shopping tonight for some sparkling water to settle my stomach...and he just had a full day of work! I feel so bad about that part, cause like you said, both my mom and mother in law were fine when it came to pregnancy symptoms!!

I'm sure your hubby understands, and you are not alone, I'm standing (or sleeping) right there with you (I've only just now got out of bed again and it's 4:20pm) :hugs:

aww thank you girls I am so glad I'm not the only one!! Kissikiss I am at uni like yourself and I also couldn't make it in today!! Have a test tomorrow so I have to go and I am dreading it :-( I hope we all feel better real soon! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

no your not the only one.
if it wasnt for the fact we have a 15 monther, i would be staying in bed too x xx x

ive got no energy at all at the moment :nope: its now 5pm and im still in my pjs and ive only just got round to washing the pots from last nights tea  i thought i best do something before my OH gets in from work. bless him, at the mo he is doing almost everything for me but i dont like to think of him knowing ive done bugger all all day. i feel so lazy, my house is a tip and although OH does what he can after work, its not done how id do it but im not going to complain coz it saves me making the effort  hopefully we will all be back on top form soon

You are definitely not alone, exhaustion was one of my earliest symptoms. I do manage to get out of bed in the morning, but it's not really an achievement as I just migrate to the sofa instead. :D

I do hate that I can barely manage to do the washing-up and basic household chores. Poor hubby comes home after an 8 hour shift, cooks dinner and generally rushes around looking after me. He's such a sweetie, but he really shouldn't have to do all that.

Luckily we don't have other kids to look after and I don't work or study, but I really sympathise with those who do.

Ugh it's horrible isn't it?? Have you told your tutors? Mine are VERY understanding, I was told that deadlines can be extended, things like that...generally most of them have families themselves and know how hard it is. In fact, my mate picked up my notes and lab book today, and one of my lecturers noticed I was gone, asked if I was ok, my mate told them I was just exhausted, and he said he would authorise my absence :)

Good luck with your test tomorrow :hugs:

i slept about 16-18 hours a day during the first trimester, almost as much throughout the rest of my pregnancy, just sleep as much as you feel you need, every one is different with different symptoms, so dont beat yourself up to much for being so tired

Hopefully things will get better for you.

Just to make you all feel worse I have to tell you that at now hitting 30wks this has been the easiest pregnancy ever!! I dont even feel pregnant - til she starts jumping and dancing about in there!!

I had nausea and tiredness from 6-12wks but not enough to stop me doing my normal day-to-day work etc. That totally went around 13wks and from then on have been feeling better than ever - absolutely loving being pregnant and I jump out of bed with bags of energy every morning!!

I hope you feel better soon and really start enjoying your pregnancy :flower:

I haven't told anyone this yet, but I haven't done any housework in 8 weeks now, and hubby's too busy to do it, which means... it's not been touched in 2 months.

And you're the failure??!

Never ever judge your pregnancy against someone else's, because any mother will tell you that they vary so much, even in the same woman with different babies. I've had mothers scare the crap out of me by telling me I should be over my sickness by now, and I shouldn't be that tired, and I shouldn't be that sick, an whatever else. Your pregnancy is unique, and as long as your midwife thinks you're normal, then you are.

In terms of sickness, I have been nauseus 24/7 since week 6, with a brief break in weeks 10 and 11. I am vomiting more than ever now.

In terms of lethargy, I have spent the last 8 weeks getting up at 8, traipsing into work, getting back at 6, and in bed by 7 or 8. I literally haven't seen the other side of 9pm in months, and I would frequently stay up until midnight before I was pregnant, so this is really early for me! My husband doesn't finish work until 11pm each night, and though we live together, I haven't seen him in days.

Not everything is perfect, but you're growing a baby; it takes all the energy you have!

Oh td 1309 I am so sorry you are feeling so rubbish.

I think Lara has hit the nail on the head with her post - every woman and every pregnancy are different so you can't really compare yourself with others.

Take it easy, do what you can and get plenty of rest :hugs:

I haven't told uni yet  I know it sounds really silly but I thought they would look at me like I'm stupid for getting pregnant as a student!! I will definately be speaking to someone tomorrow though and hopefully won't feel so pressured to be on top of things! xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I'm the tiredest person in the world I think.. Yesterday I got up at 11am, did basically nothing all day, and fell asleep on the couch at 6pm

I'm being really lazy at the moment and I feel awful because DH is doing everything :(

I'm so tired all the time though, I feel nauseous so I don't want to get out of bed for long and now I've started actually throwing up!! :dohh:

x

I've spent most days in bed (or in the couch if I'm feeling really ambitious!) since week 5 of this pregnancy. I am now 10 weeks and the nausea is getting more intense.

I am so overwhelmed with exhaustion, nausea, and dizziness that I just cannot function. I've had to stop working for a while and my children are fending for themselves most days. My husband is doing the grocery shopping and housework, and friends are occasionally bringing meals over. That's how bad it is. I've spent the last few weeks fighting it and am starting to realize that perhaps I just need to surrender and let it be.

This pregnancy is different than my oyhers- so who am I to compare the pregnancies any more than I would compare my children? They are all as different as the stars!

im buggered.. I did about 30minutes of housework this morning but now im laying on the couch.. Im just super super tired..
