Anyone else nearing or passed the 5 year mark?

Just out of pure curiosity - have any of you tried acupuncture for fertility? I gave an appointment in a few weeks, I'm skeptical but what have I got to lose at this point?

I have. I was going once a week for awhile (I haven't been very good the last 2 months). And in the middle of my IUI cycles I had to take a one month break. That break I ovulated on CD 15, which I never in my life have, not even on meds unless I was triggered! The only thing that had changed was acupuncture. It's crazy. I didn't think it would help either, but obviously it did. It hasn't gotten me pregnant yet tho..

hi, im officially 17yrs ttc this week, and also trying accupunture and chinese medicine for the first time, as ivf has failed me so no harm in trying something less stressfull.

hmmmm... I'm so glad to hear that! Did it hurt at all? Also, did your acupuncturist prescribe you anything? Mine is going to be putting me on a regime - that is supposed to help balance hormones and create calmness and peace?

I can´t help noticing that quite a lot of you are unexplained. I just wanted to mention a fertility treatment called NaProTechnology/fertilitycare:
They get a lot of people with unexplained fertility and usually find the causes since that is what they are working with; treating the underlying causes of infertility. And with good succes, they have better succes rates than any IVF program. On this link there is a little appetizing movie about the treatment:

As for me right now I am on Femara, Progesterone, Prednisolone, Aspirin and HEALTHY DIET

It doesn't really hurt, certain needle spots hurt, others don't, but it's only for a split second, if it stays hurting they take it out. I fall asleep 1/2 the time! Mine is a different kind of acupuncture, it's a community acupuncture where there is a bunch of recliners in a big room, and everyone goes in there, so you don't have your private rooms. There are usually 2 acupuncturists on at a time, and they have 3 total. You are clothed, so they only do the extremities, and they do my belly sometimes too. Sounds weird, but it's not, and it's way cheaper, $15 a visit! They never put me on anything, she thought about it, but what she was going to do would shorten my LP, and I didn't want that. So she never did anything.

I am going on 6 years may 6th! and today is a VERY bad day for me. I can guarantee that you all have felt the same as i do now where you wake up and it feels like your world is falling apart because all you want is that one BFP and to make it those 9 mo so you can hold your beautiful baby. Wow ... i cant stop crying and all i want is for my life to go my way just 1 time!

You are exactly where I am to the day TTC. That is my wedding date and we have been trying ever since..(May 6, 2006) We have successfully been pregnant twice both ended in M/C. Hope we all get our BFP's soon. However I am doubtful..See my sig!!

Has anyone tried Vitex? I've seen mixed reviews but I broke down and bought it yesterday... Any words on it?

I have my first accupuncture appointment on May 1st.

I had a GP appointment yesterday and didn't realise that my GP does it on NHS and the midwife does it privately, so I'm going for the cheaper option and no big fat pregnant ladies rubbing my face in it!
