anyone else starting clomid?

Hiya Kel.

I'm on cd5 of my round on clomid 50mg cd2-5. Yes it does work! I have pcos and I don't ovulate at all normally but on my 1st round of clomid I definitely did and 2 eggs, one from each ovary. I was monitored from cd10-16 by internal ultra sounds to make sure my ovaries were producing follicles (eggs) but not too many and I had cd21 bloods done. I even got my BFP day before AF was due but sadly lost it. I'm really optimistic about this cycle though because I know clomid does work and even if this cycle isn't the one I've still got 4 more to go. I'm not going to be motored now but I'm going to use opks and chart just for my own piece of mind and so I :sex: on the right days. I'll warn you though it can have some crappy side effects but it'll be worth it in the end. It turns me into an insomniac which is really messing my chart up because I'm not temping at the same time every day. It's driving me crazy lol.

I hope you don't mind me asking but why do you need clomid?

Good luck, I really hope that the clomid works for you too Xx

Thanks for the response. I had bloods done and doc said my progesterone is SUPER low. Around a 1 and I dont ovulate so she decided that was the best thing to do. What are the side effects?

The m/c was just one of them things unfortunately, it just happens sometimes.

There are a lot of women on here who have taken clomid because they don't OV and by the sounds of it, it works wonders.

The side effects are different for everybody but I struggle to sleep, I get hot flushes, emotional and when I'm ovulating I definitely know about it, I got the worst OV pains 1st round but that could of just been because there was an egg from each ovary. There's a good thread on here called clomid club, there's lots of women all in the same boat to give help, advice and support, I'll add the link.

Hello :) I'm still in my 2ww but if AF comes then I will start clomid late next week cd 3-7. My OBGYN said the lowest dose, so I assume 50 mg.

I've had two progesterone tests. The first was 10-11 dpo (they told me to come in cycle day 21-23 which is way after ovulation for me) and that was 2.5. I was retested this week closer to 7 dpo and it is 7. That's better, and indicates that I'm ovulating, but my OBGYN said they still like to see it closer to 10. She said the clomid should help give me a "stronger" ovulation.

I was told to come in the day after I get my surge for a mid-cycle sonogram. Does that seem about right? Then I will also get another progesterone level done.

I'm nervous!

eta: Thanks for the link, PrincessTaz! Baby Dust!

I am wondering if my doctor is going to put me on clomid when i come this week.

My Luteal phase is 6-7 days, so i need something!!

xx

Yeah thanks for the link!
And yes i had a scan on wednesday and thats when she prescribed it. I'm hoping it works!
Oh and btw! Did you find out if both eggs got fertilized?

No I never did find out but I had really strong symptoms and the test picked it up straight away quite dark before af was even due. My OH really wanted twins thought, we'd be really pleased if we did get clomid twins because we wouldn't have to go through all this again! 2 kiddies would deffo be enough for us :)

Good luck ladies, hopefully we'll all be getting a very pleasant surprise for Christmas.
Lots of :dust:

Hello ladies...I am in my first cycle with clomid 50 mg days 5-9. I am not in the TWW I believe. I do not temp, but I got a positive OPK Tuesday afternoon. We weren't able to BD until Wednesday night and so I am hoping that wasn't too late!! The only side effect I has was awful ovulation pain that felt like all over cramping and bloating on both sides on Wednesday. I called my RE nurse and she said that it may be because I was ovulating two eggs...who knows!! I was put on it because my progesterone is on the low side. I go in for a test on Saturday, which is CD23 to see where it is at this cycle and if the clomid helped. Good luck ladies...praying for a BFP!

Hi Everyone! I have PCOS and am on my first round of Clomid 50 mg days 3-7. I am new to BnB and so far love all the wonderful advice and words of wisdom I have recieved. My DH and I have been TTC for about a year now with no luck. Hoping for some good news in the near future! Thanks to everyone for sharing their stories. It makes me feel like I am not the only one who is in the boat!

Aw yeah it would be brilliant if we were bump buddies :)
I'm quite excited about this month, I've got a good feeling. AF is due 13/14th Dec and I want to test from the 10th but my OH made me promise I won't test until I'm at least a week late. It's going to kill me because I'm a POAS addict lol but I'm going to hold out until the 20th, if the :witch: hasn't showed her ugly face by then.

When did you take your last clomid pill again?

If I counted right.. AF would be due dec. 18! I probably wont test until christmas unless my doc decides to do bloods and I know she will.

Do you think they can detect hcg in blood by cd23?

I think it varies, some women get + results earlier than others. It depends how many dpo you are and when implantation happens. The average for most women to show a + result is 13.6dpo.

Last time I was pregnant I never got a positive until 14 days after my period was due. so maybe I'm just an odd ball.

Are you doing opk's or anything?

Yeah I'm charting and using opks for the 1st time. I got some ICs from amazon and I've got the clearblue digi one with the smiley face just to clarify, I'll start using that once the lined on opk get darker. Are you using anything this month?
