When I got pregnant with my son I had no idea what an LP even was! This time around I have realized I have about a 10 day LP. ( first month ttc but I have been tracking o for a few months)
I am trying to lengthen it with vitamin b6. I have heard 10 days is kind of the "cut off" for a good LP. Anyone else have this issue? Has b6 worked for anyone else?

After a few months of charting I realized my LP was only 8 days. I started taking vitex first (Solaray brand). The first month It didn't lengthen LP. The second cycle I added b6 only after O because I had heard that b6 could delay O. That cycle my LP went up a day.

This cycle I am taking b6 the whole cycle & vitex (switched brand to Gaia because I heard it was a better brand). I got my +OPK today at CD16, which is 10 days earlier than normal! My cycles have previously been 36ish days, with only an 8 day LP.

I will know more about LP lengthen this cycle (or maybe not because hopefully I'll have a BFP). However, I definitey have heard B6 can lengthen LP and I believe it, how much are you taking?

There are people who say it can delay O by a few days too, so that is possible. Everyone's body is different.

This is very interesting.. This month I O'd on CD17 of what I'm predicting is a 27 day cycle (judging by last month).. If we don't fall I am definitely going to look into this. I love how knowledgable the ladies here are!

I started taking it just a few days ago. I am cd 12 right now. I read you can start it after o but I just started it now. I am wondering if I should stop it until I o?
Flossie- 10 days isn't necessarily bad- from what I have read. It definitely is on the edge of being not good. I read anything less than 10 can cause problems but I have also read of women getting a bfp with like an 8 day LP.

Meeee! Mine ranges from 8 to 10. With b6 I've managed to get it to stay around 10 but never above :/ just started ttc baby #2 this month and nervous about that danged lp

When you do take it? Your whole cycle or just after o?

I took b6 when ttc my dd2 and it lengthened from O on cd21 of a 31 day cycle to cd17 and I got my Bfp the same month I started- I took it every day
However I'm taking it this time but I'm still at O on cd22 of a 30 day cycle :(

My doctor has me taking it daily as part of my vitamins for the day.

So with the b6 do you ovulate sooner or does your cycle get longer?

I have a 28 day cycle and my LP is about 12 days. I am seeking help from traditional Chinese medicine. My doctor says ideally it's best to have a 30-32 day cycle with a 14 day LP, and that's what I am trying to get.

For me personally I got a day on each side. Ovulated one day sooner and cycle got one day longer, so still only a 25 day cycle or so but better than the 23 or so one I had before. I dunno if that's the norm though to be honest

Me  I never took my lp into account before but since having a mmc in April I've noticed that it's only been about 7 days! (Although that's only been two cycles). Dunno if it's the miscarriage that's messed things up, or perhaps things where messed up after the birth of my son and I just never noticed. Anyways I have started b6 too to try and help things. Bit nervous about the vitex but might give it a bash if things don't improve. I'm also gonna ask my gp to check my thyroid. I have pcos anyway but never had thyroid checked so maybe there's a prob there and the two are related. Xx

After my IUD removal I had an 8 day LP and then. 10 day LP!

I'm hoping it's just my body trying to regulate again but have started taking a b vitamin complex to see if that helps.

I read somewhere that the body struggles to absorb b6 on its own, it needs the other b vitamins to make the most if it, just thought it might be worth a mention.

I started taking vitex this month- very small dose 4mg- but I was waking up every day in a bad mood and was really grumpy. I stopped taking them and these moods have stopped too. I looked online and as it affects hormones then mood changes can be affected too! So it may well lengthen my LP but I'd be such a moody cow I wouldn't want to bd lol!! I'd rather be happy and wait a bit longer. That's just me though I read loads of positive stories from taking vitex and they seem to take 1000mg daily!

That's interesting- what do you take/do with the Chinese medicine?

I read that too. Might pick up a b complex to take as well. I just feel like I will be taking so much! Right now I am taking 1. Prenatal 2. B6 3. Magnesium. If I add in the b complex that will be 4 a day. I feel like that's a lot. 😕

Well basically it's just Chinese herbs. You boil the herbs and drink the liquid. The doctor I am seeing is specialised in infertility caused by PCOS and endometriosis. She's quite famous for helping countless women conceive. I live in Asia so it's easier to get access but I'm sure there are some good Chinese medicine doctors available in North America or other western countries.

Interesting! I am excited to hear your updates!
