Mine will be in April so I wondered if there was anyone else who was waiting like me

:hi:
I am not waiting but I have had the surgery in january and I can see that you you have a blocked tube, are they attempting to unblock it for you? They unbkocked my left tube and I now have two tubes :) gl x

I want it to diagnose or rule out endometrosis. I'm not sure about the tubes. I'll probably do a further hsg after dependent upon results. How did they unblock your tubes if you don't mind me asking?

I'm waiting for a lap, but I haven't received the date yet. I have a left hydrosalpinx and a complicated cyst and they are probably going to remove both. Apparently you have better luck conceving with just one tube vs. two tubes (with one hydrosalpinx). I'm nervous!

I was going to do it and backed out .I decided to wait until I go back to my specialist. Good Luck! I hope everything is good!

Misshydra hello fellow canuk isee you are vancouver I'm under the care of a private fertility clinic. I don't know exact day yet either but my fertility dr does the surgery. They try to do their own. To be honest radiologist said tubes open. The fertility dr who did my hsg said blocked.

Care love why did you back out? I won't try ivf without the lap.

I had a lap surgery ..I had a cyst double the size of my uterus on an ovary.
had the surgery after my natural MC...surgery went well..I have 3 scars..2 almost gone..one by my belly button still kinda raised and dark pink. The doc couldn't believe I had the cyst...found it by chance during ultra sound.

Thanks for posting smooch. I have a scar on belly button not sure if they will use or new one I also have 3 others from gallbladder so what's another lil white scar. Glad they found and removed it.

Wow Smooch! That sounds huge! Did it give you any pain? I get lots of pain from mine, but I still can't quite convince myself its not psychological

Tubes can be tricky things... Are yours fluid filled? Or just blocked? Do you know if they are going to try and open it up or remove them and head on to IVF?

Even though I know that I have such a low chance of conceiving on my own as the fluid from my tube is most likely toxic to all little embies, I still get my hopes up every month. I will feel much more comfortable once they are out.

At this point I don't know much about the specifics with tubes at all.

I'm coming to accept they are all (between hsg two weeks ago and todays fs appt ) but blocked something although nearly 10 years ttc with no bfp I wasn't willing to believe I guess. I think I still wanna be numb till surgery then go from there I haven't cried yet or felt emotional I'm trying to hope that lap answers more questions then I'll process it all.

Lawyer chick- It is worth asking them to try and unblock your tube whilst they do the op? Im not sire I have my follow up in 2 weeks- after surgery they said I had a little mucus blockage and they cleared it so I have two working tubes... I think they can pass the dye through with more pressure whilst you are asleep and I know they can use certain tools to unblock them also, I have heard that it depends where the blockage is if they can unblock them.
After the op the doc told me that now I have two tubes that I have a good chance of conceiving.
Like smooch I had three incisions- one on my bikini line, one on my belly button and one on the side near my bone.

Any questions you have feel free to ask me x

Hi,

I am also waiting for my lap and ovarian drilling.. My scheduled date is on March 14th.
I have had 3 failed clomid cycles :( :(.. I am now eagerly waiitng for my lap and OD surgery to be over..

Does anyone know the success rate of getting pregenant after OD ?? I am very curious to get it done asap....

Also could someone tell me after how many days after the surgery will i get my periods, i heard that its important we get our periods on our own after lap , i wonder wot will happen to me ??

Candy girl. Are you usually regular? I don't know much about ovarian drilling.
I found out my laps prob in early may now. I'm not happy. I don't wanna wait but don't have any choice.
I'm not sure what they do here to open tubes ESP when our insurance pays for some of three ivf cycles with blocked tubes.

Hi Guys,
this is my first post. I have been ttc since Dec '10, and have just recently been to see the doctor. The only tests that they have run so far are basic bloods, but she referred me to a specialist who has booked me in for a lap and HSG in April. Just reading through some other posts and it seems that others have tried many other things before having the lap. Is this normal? I guess its good to know early if there are any other problems that are preventing me from getting pregnant? DH has not yet had his SA but will need to before my procedure.
Be good to know if this is the normal treatment?
Thanks,

Since you have ttc for a year it makes sense to do semen analysis. I'd get that done first because if it is dh then you may not need the hsg and lap.

After a ton of blood work by gyn and fs I had the hsg which I wished had a better outcome but I knew as soon as they said blocked tube(s) I needed the lap done.

If you have normal blood work and dh is normal then I would want the hsg too.
Have you been pregnant at all since trying? Have you done ovulation tests? Temped?

Hi ladies just wanted to let you all know i had my lap done 10th feb (3 wks ago today).
Doc said tubes were all clear, no cysts, polops, scarring or endo. He said sometimes a good flush through is whats needed. Have now completed all tests avaliable and so has OH. Been ttc for 23 months and all test results are fine.
On CD7 and first clomid round of 50mg 2-6. I do ov on my own but fc said it may just give me a little boost.
Feeling more positive this month with the lap out the way and the clomid to try.

My experience of the lap and dye was ok. Was nowhere near as bad as i was expecting. I have 2 cuts, 1 in belly button and one on bikini line. You get some pain in your shouldres (gas is pumped into you so surgeon can get a better look at the reproductive organs and this gas travels to your shoulders). A few pain killers did the job for me.
I had very mild discomfort for about 2-3 days but really only when i needed to cough or leant forward.
I was told that i would bleed for 7-10 days (i bled for 2) and no dtd for 10 days. (seeing as i heard you were more fertile after i couldnt help myself and dtd after 5).
My AF was due the friday after and i was one day late. So this is my 1st cycle since my jet wash :D

Good luck ladies, hope this helps and BFP'S to you all x

Hi Lawyer chick,
Thanks for that. After a year i still haven't had a bfp, but I use the ovul home tests each month and this is good at pin pointing the fertile days as my cycle is quite irregular. I think the only thing my gp checked with bloods was for PCOS, vit D levels and if i had ovul (which i had). Candy Gal I noticed that you have been on Clomid. Is this something they suggested first, or did you request it?
Good luck to all xx

I actually realy didnt notice any major pain lol...i could have had it for years.
Had to have an ultra sound due to m/c. Thts how it was found...was too much drama lol so glad thats all done.:winkwink:

Hi Bushbunny,

I had 3 failed rounds of clomid [ 50, 100 and then 100 mg + metformin].. nothing worked.. i didnt show any improvements at al... the nurses told me that i could be clomid resistant [ i.e not reacting to clomid at al]. so the nurse suggested me that i undergo lapro...

i have lapro in few days time.. i am very scared.. well i dont know if i should be scared or happy that i am gonna get it done..

@LawyerChick - I was irregular from age 14 till i got married at age 26. But after thati got my periods everymonth for a year and then bang!!!!! [ heavy flow] last march :( :( , so the doctor suggest Birth Control Pills . i took it for 2 months and then stopped it... since then its irregular.. get my period only after taking provera. :( :(

Candy girl. I hope your surgery goes well. I'm afraid to and I've 60 days to wait to go crazy. Lol trying to occupy brain.
