Hi Gals,
I had my Lap and OD yesterday , all went well and i have passed with flying colors

.
I would like to write down my exp, it could be helpful for others..
1. I had my app scheduled at 11:30, I was there at the hospital by 11:35.
2. Reported at the reception, was asked to be seated in the reception for close to 30 mins.
3. Then the nurse will take you to your room and give you some details.
4. Then had to wait for a while. waiting in the hospital gets very frustrating at times.
5. staff nurse would come to make you feel comfy, monitor your temp and bp. She would also like to understand when did i last consume food, bring the dressing gown, give you your stockings and slippers [ if you dont bring it along with you]
5. The doctor who is going to operate you would come to check if we are doing good. You will feel very nice seeing the doc before the op. If you have any questions you can def ask him there. I had also planned to ask a lot of questions but my mind goes blank when i see him.
5. Waiting period again

..
6. Another staff nurse would come to take a Pregnancy test.
7. So we kept waiting from 11:35 to 2:15.
8. Then came the doctor [ who gives anasthesia], doctor would collect some basic details from you as like do you smoke, when did you have your food etc etc, really simple things to answer here.
9. Then we need to change our clothes and wear the surgery gown[ which will have back open] then on top of that wear the dressing gown [ similar to the one you wear after coming out of shower], remove your bra, you can keep your panties on.
10. Another nurse will come to give your medicines [ paracetamol and some pain killer] , you need to have 4 tablets with 1/4th cup of water...
11. Finally another nurse came to take me to theater..Me and hubby were a little terrifed here as the momemt for which we were waiting for so long has arrived.. but i tried to remain calm and cool.
11. Then i went to the loo, took off my panties and went along with the nurses [ 2 of them now]
12. I was now taken to the anasthesia room, my heart is beating fast now.. But the nurses and the other staff will keep you engaged in some conversation.
Another doctor will be preparing to give you anasthesia. They will let you know when they are giving it. After that i was awake for 3-5 secs. I didnt know when i fell asleep.
13. So the doctor is now operating on me

14. When i woke up in the recovery room i saw the clock , the time was 3:30, i thought to myself why am i still waiting to get the surgery done. I asked the nurse if the surgery was over and she said "yes it is".

. I was relived.
15. I had pain similar in my lower abdomen, felt like i was going to get my periods any time soon. i told the nurse , she gave me some medicines.
16. After that the pain faded away. I was feeling drowsy, but kept myself awake as i wanted to be in my room.
17. Then i was taken to my room, had some water. I had sore throat. had some water, was feeling drowsy.
18. Then came TEA

, i was feeling fresh after drinking tea.
19. We were still curious to know the results.
20. Kept talking to my poor hubby who was just waiting for me in the room through out.
21. I was given some sandwich to eat, but really didnt feel like eating anything.
21. Nurse would come to check your bp and temp a lot of times with frequent intervals.
22. The the doctor came to see him, i was happy to see him again and but we were curious too.
23. He told me that everytihng looked fine, no tube blocks but my left ovary was stuck to the pelvic bone.. he didnt know why it was like that. but he has corrected it now. he showed some pictures to me. i saw that there were 5 holes in my ovary.
24. I have another appt after 4 weeks.
24. I was ready to go home after i pee..
25. Drank lots of water, initially had trouble trying to pee , but i kept going to loo "n" number of times.. finally after few tries i could urinate.. I felt so happy.
26. So i have crossed this hurdle as well..
27. I hope i will get my periods regularly.
If you want any more info then let me know. i would be happy to share.
