anyone esle booked in for sweep 10 weeks in advance!

im booked in for a sweep at the hospital for 10 weeks time when i will be 40 weeks, didnt think they booked it in that far in advance!

I got booked a 41 week appointment at the hospital when I was 34 weeks pregnant. They said it was to do a sweep etc for if I go overdue. I'm shared care so that was the consultant who booked that. I don't see my midwife again until 40+4 so I don't know if she would do anything.

Oh and they said they were booking it so I would have an appointment and it can be cancelled if I have my baby before 41 weeks.

what exactly is a sweep?
