Anyone ever done acupuncture and Herbs for fertility?

I have been told by three different people recently to try an acupuncture specializing in fertility, hasd anyone done this before?

Hi Maureen, I tried the whole acupuncture and herb thing for 3 months before I started my IUI. My naturopath also put me on a cleanse during my treatments. I have to say that the herbs really did lengthen my luteal phase like they were supposed to but they ended up lengthening my entire cycle too which totally sucked! I would say that I tried it was because I wanted to try everything natural before starting fertility drugs. It didn't work but who knows, my body may be better prepared now for when I do get pregnant.

I have a friend who swears by the acupuncture and believes it is what helped her relax and be able to concieve. I personally, am not a fan of herbs, but that could be because of my bias as I work for a large pharmaceutical company and I have issues with how unregulated the herbs are. The one thing I would caution you on is if you are going the route of herbs and acupuncture don't mix the herbs with traditional western fertility drugs. They would not be studied together to watch for drug-herb interactions. So if this is something you are interested in trying, I would do what Harvest suggested .... do herbs & acupuncture first and then traditional fertility treatments or vice versa but don't mix them together

I am working with an acupuncturist now for my ivf cycle. He is an md which puts my mind at ease a little. I've been enjoying the treatments they are very relaxing.

i used acupuncture generally to treat different ailments or for relaxation.

i also used it in conjunction with ivf. altho it all seems like hocus pocus, it does seem to work, especially if u see someone with a fertility leaning. mine did a lot to treat my ovaries and uterus at different stages - increase blood flow and such.

i also did fertility yoga for my mental health and also because they have specific poses that help as well as the whole mind/body thing has been proven to improve your chances.

Hi huni, I would recommend the acupuncture heard lots of positive stories about it and certainly when I used it my last cycle it helped me relax however I wouldn't recommend the herbs one of the specialists from Care posted on their forum that the herbs can be detrimental to Ivf cycle.
