No, I wouldn't say it's very country lol, Hull is very flat. Has a lot of Terraced houses which all look the same and unless you get a house in one of the nicer area's you will feel sandwiched by concrete. A lot of it to me is rather Industrial, but this is my opinion and I still love this city despite it.
I'm not from Hull myself. I moved down here from Scotland 7 years ago to be nearer to my mother and to get support as I was pregnant with my dd and only 17. I like it, people say a lot of bad stuff about Hull but like any town/city it has its good points and bad points. The shopping is good imo with plenty of varied shops(lots of clothes). We have some lovely parks, Pearson park and East park are my favourites. West park is nice too and has Hull fair every October as an added bonus. I can't tell you much about the Nightlife as I don't go out.
