Anyone had a "feeling" they were having twins? Was your hunch right or wrong?

Hi all :flower:

As the title says really. I've read that a lot of women who have twins have a feeling they're carrying twins before they find out for sure. I was just wondering how many ladies here have had this - and how many were right or wrong!

I curious because I'm not even sure I'm pregnant yet - too early to test - but am having this "funny feeling" about there being more than one baby growing in my belly. As because I can't get the answers to what's happening with me just yet I'm eager to know about others!!

Thanks

For some reason with this pregnancy I really thought it would be twins but I was wrong. Three scans later and it's definitely only one baby.

I was convinced I was having twins, and I was wrong.

I was very sure it was two, and I was actually right! :happydance:

Good luck and :dust: I hope you get your BFP! :hugs:

My mom suspected it, but later in the pregnancy - when it wasn't acting like her other 10 pregnancies. Sure enough, I came tagging along, 16 minutes late to the party Sharon had started.

So she knew before the birth, but might not have had that hunch for a few months.

Good luck to the multiples moms, and those about to join them! It's one heck of a ride your twins will take you on.

I was totally convinced, and after having 1 scan and seeing just one bubs in there, I'm still not totally convinced I'm only having one haha! Think I'm in denial but m bump is huuuggeeeee xxx

I had a hunch and I was correct, because my belly was abnormally large compared to previous pregnancies.

I wasn't convinced but I hoped it was, and thought there was a chance because I had 2 implantations that were 3 days apart and the 2nd IB wasn't old brown blood. It's only 1 in there though, and I can tell its only 1 baby kicking x

I couldn't get the idea of twins out of my head in the first few weeks of finding out. As it happens, I'm only having the one baby but my friend at work who got pregnant the same time as me is having twins! I think I was picking up on her twin vibes! Xx

Never thought for a second that I could be pregnant with twins - never once entered my head, I thought all twins ran in families and they don't run in mine so I thought that ruled me out. Found out at my 12 week scan and got the shock of my life! Pregnant with identicals!

Thanks for all your replies! Just as I thought... lots of "twin pregnancy symptoms" googling showed that "having a feeling" was common with mums pregnant with twins, but I thought there's no real way of counting how many people had a feeling that was wrong! If I do get my BFP in the next week or so, I'll be more prepared for a singleton baby at the scan now :)
Hugs to those who lost a twin xx

Since I have been pregnant with twins, I have been posting in the twins forum on this site quite a lot. A lot of people go on there with 'this feeling' and say they are convinced they are having twins - I've not come across any who turn out to be pregnant with twins! But having said that, a lot of twin Mom's say that they knew from the start that they were having twins, so I guess it can go either way! :hugs:

i was wrong. for first and second time he/she is only one again.

Thanks, it sucks losing one but it is inevitable with higher risks :hugs:

One thing to keep in mind a lot of us were also higher risk - lots of women with twins were on clomid, 35+, family history (I'm only 27 but 2 sets of fraternals in immediate maternal side), so it is natural that we might suspect it, and random confirmation.

I'm a twin and so was petrified!!! Just the one! Phew!!! I don't think I could cope with two, I don't know how my mum did it!! Xxx

It's not always a bed of roses... identical twins are high risk - I can't really enjoy this pregnancy as I am always worrying about TTTS etc etc.

Twins who have their own placenta and their own sac are less of a risk and if Fraternal twins run in your family, then it's only natural to think you might be next!
