I havent had one I was booked in to get one to confirm drs diagnosis of Endo but I got my BFP 2 days before I was due to get lap. I know there are a few girls on here that have had it & I am sure will reply to you as soon as they see this. Good luck for the future xx
hiya I had a lap about 2 years ago for the same thing it was keyhole surgery they put the camera through my bellybutton and made another same cut just above my pubic line they dont affect your chances of getting pregnant by having one its only if you are found to have endometrosis and probably if it is a large area thats affected.
what I will say is they blow your stomach up with gas to look around and that gas has to get out someway and it comes out your shoulders(you dont feel it coming out)all it does is make your shoulders really achy for a few days.
I hope it goes well for you
and if it helps after having the lap and my cervix burnt it only took 10 days for me and dh to conceive.

im due for one soon hun, i think they are brillant tho, its like a mot!
they check your ovaries,tubes,endro etc...
what symptoms do you have for them to think its endro?xx
I had one in October 2004. We had been ttc for 2 years. Originally told me I would be awake with just one camera/tube, but when I got there they put me under and put two in - one through my belly button. The results were all clear.
It took me a little while to recover (til about Christmas) and it was a bit uncomfortable, but the wound was a little bit infected so put that down to that. I know people who just had the one camera and had no trouble at all.
As soon as the infection was all clear and I had a normal cycle I found out I was pg - woohoo. Don't know for sure if it was because of the lap, but the specialist told me that usually women get pg within 3 months of having the op.
The following October on the exact same date I had the lap the prev year I gave birth to my gorgeous ds, who is now 2 1/2 and well worth the wait. TTC#2 now so hoping it will be an easier process!
Good luck and there is nothing to worry about - message me if you have any specific questions.
Hi, I was finally oficially diagnosed with endometriosis in 2003 after a lap. I'd always had "problem" periods but the real serious pain started when I was 16 - now they reckon the endo started to grow after I had my appendix out when I was 16.
Anway, after the first lap I was young and didn't really know that much about endo, just followed what the Dr told me. I was never given a follow up appointment and no further treatment, after 6 month my endo came back. What I've learnt is (and I've had another op) you really need hormone treatment after the lap or you need to get pregnant pretty soon otherwise the op is redundant. Normally you can start trying for a baby within 6-8 weeks of the op, and you should have much better chances of conceiving than before. After my 2 pregnancies the endometriosis has gone (I'm lucky, it's not always the case but there's a strong chance of it happening) and for the first time since I was 12 I'm not on the pill or painkillers and I feel great! Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.
I wa diagnosed with endo when i was 18 and told i could not have kids due to the extent, went through 4 laps, things did not look good. I am now 38 and pregant with my 10th child so keep going girls there a self cure available, but it does have problems with your life...all those wee darlings..
Hi,
I miscarried a natural pregnancy in August 2006, tried for a year but to no avail.
I had a laparoscopy in November 2007 (to clear things up a bit). My surgeon explained that my fallopian tubes were so badly damaged that I should have them both removed and go on to have ivf.
so, I endured a 2nd laparoscopy on 20th February 2008 and both of my tubes were removed - not something I felt happy about. 6 weeks later, I discovered I was NINE WEEKS pregnant. Although incredibly happy, I wonder how the tiny little thing managed to survive the operation and the heavy blood loss which followed - a miracle. Was the operation necessary? Couldn't they have done a pregnancy test b4hand?
In answer to your question - I think perhaps the 1st op did make a difference as we conceived naturally 3 months later.
