Hi Ladies,

I have IBS so it's hard to tell if I have endo, however the doc asked me if I spot mid cycle and is it extremely painful every period, because I said no to these questions he said I didn't have endo. Hence the above question.

Thanks ladies

Yes, i had no idea until i had a scan and there was the cyst. No pain at all, just lactose intolerance. But over a year and many other surgeries i have lower back pain and other bowel problems.

I didn't know until I had a lap +hysteroscopy.

Hiya

I had IBS and spotting a few days before my period. No pain though. I also had cystitis as the endo was on my bladder. I've read that many women don't have any symptoms at all x

i was very concerned that i might have endo as i have the following symptoms:
painful intercourse
spotting b4 af arrives
bad low back pain from ovulation, gradually gets worse til af arrives
painful periods
clots in periods
sharp sudden pains in lower tummy

i was so convinced i had endo & even my gp referred me to see a specialist at a private hospital ( i had to pay for the consultation) but the specialist agreed i did need a lap so i had it done there ( luckily on nhs still!! as would of cost £4000!!!) last wed & to my suprise no endo found!!! i have no idea why i get these symptoms...

xx

i founf out when i had lap, no symptoms. sometimes painful sex

i have a blocked tube and am having ivf.

good luck x

Hi Katie Ri

Spotting mid-cycle and very painful periods are just some of the symptons that endo can present with. There are many more - and not all women will have every symptom.
Symptons can include:
Pain during intercourse (and on orgasm)
Pain after intercourse
Heavy periods
Very painful periods
Period - like pain between periods
Lower back pain
Pain in the thighs and hips
Infertility
Pain on bowel movements
(these are some of the symptons I've had and I know other women have had the same)
And the type of pain can vary for each woman aswell - some say it's like an ache, some get stabbing pains. Last time I suffered with the symptons I had a constant dull ache interspersed with sharp stabbing pains. Best of both!! lol

It is also possible to have absolutley no symptoms at all! Some people have had no indication of having endo only to find out that they have got it quite severely.

Even with all my symptons and pain, my consultant told me I only had a 'small' amount of endo.

The only way to know for sure is with a lap. I'm really disappointed that your Dr said that you can't have endo based on those 2 symptoms! Go back if you're worried and press him on it.
Good luck!!
Love SB xxx
