Anyone had pneumonia?

I did when I was very little. I can't remember how long my mom said it took to go. I think maybe a week?

My friend has just had it she was in hospital for afew days then had go back in few more days for her to get back to full health its taken 2 weeks shes had complications though x

Yes I had it when I was 24 weeks pregnant with my twins in 2011. My lung collapsed and I was rushed to hospital. I was there for 4 nights on drips. Then discharged myself as I was feeling a little better. But I was on antibiotics for a further 10 days.

I had it after I had the flu' .. it took about 2 weeks to clear though it took me about 6 weeks to get back to full power.

My brother had it terribly when he was about 16. It took about 3 weeks to go but he wasn't up to doing much for about 6 weeks as he still felt a bit worn down for a few weeks after it went.

My sister had it last winter, it took about eight weeks. It just would not go and she got admitted to hospital a few times

I've had it for the last week and a bit. I'm feeling a bit better today, on day 3 of the right antibiotics. I only have it in one lung and I'm at home (with strict instructions to sleep/eat/drink whenever my body tells me I need to and not to leave the house or do any heavy lifting/house work etc) so hopefully I will be feeling better soon

:( hugs. Glad you're feeling a little better x

I was hospitalisedwoth it in December 2010, and in all honesty it took me until about March to feel anywhere near back to full strength.

My DH had it last year and it knocked him out for about 4 weeks, but it took over two weeks for our useless gp to diagnose it. Think it was about 3 months before he was totally 100%.

Hope you feel better soon.

I just got diagnosed with it last night at 34 1/2 weeks. I'm miserable and everything hurts. I just hope baby's not in any jeopardy.

I have no idea how long I had it for, I was about 2 or 3 I am told when I had it and nearly didnt recover from it but Im still here , Ive been told I was in an oxygen tent and my family couldnt go near me, but I cant remember having it as I was so young, I just know one of my lungs is weaker than the other due to pnemounia xxx

My father fell ill with pneumonia last year. He was really bad off for about a week before he basically collapsed and we took him to the hospital. He was in the ICU for two nights, and then moved to the general area for another four days. He was on a strict antibiotic regimen, and he also had then sterroid breathing treatments-- though I can't remember what they were called. It was about two weeks before he went back to feeling healthy again. He just had to take it really slow, and no over do anything.
