How long did it take to heal? I know stitches take a couple of weeks but when I asked the midwife how long the one they left open would take all she could say was "the skin will come together eventually."

I don't but Ouch... How big is it? sorry I can't help you, hope you heal soon x

It's tiny, that's why they left it. I hope it only takes a few weeks.

I had some minor tearing that wasn't stitched. After about 2.5 weeks it quit hurting and everything is pretty painless.

I don't know if this will help... I wasn't torn where most people get torn: I had a tear in my labia, and it was really really sore. It is healed now, but the bits never went back together - my labia now is divided into two parts, looks really weird. But that took about 2 weeks to heal, maybe three.

Hopefully won't be too long for you now :hugs:

OMG me too!! I'm so glad there is someone else who had this.

Mine took at least 2 weeks to heal. It was quite a mess and tore 2 ways. 1 part was stitched but the other wasn't and it's healed up not together.

My stitches actually open up, they were done by a trainee and obviously werent doen properly. Anyhow, my midwife had a look and said the exact same "it will come together eventually" but unfortunately im still waiting. Its not sore at all, but not joined together.

That is more or less exactly what happened to me. I tore down the back too though.

Oh mine was a mess, too. REALLY stung to pee - the flow used to push it open each time  and OUCH!! did that hurt! lol

No stitches for me - The midwife didn't notice it tbh, she said I had no tears, and I only noticed it myself about 4 days after I had her (was too tired and in shock to notice before with Anna's illness - was to focused on her), and I never looked down there until I realised I had blood on a flanel that wasn't coming from inside me, and I was really freaked out because it looked so weird! Nearly asked a midwife to check it out but didn't have the bottle lol - It's all healed up now, just looks funky

Glad I'm not the only one :)

I had tiny tears and one stitch that are all pain free now. Have been for a couple days...

 Omg Margerle I didn't even know you had had your baby! :hugs: Congratulations!!

Good lord! This sounds scary, I feel so bad for you ladies! I'm not looking forward to this part at all!

LOL! Yeah, you might not want to read this section. It could freak you out too much!

I haven't even looked at my bits, I have no idea what it looks like, I'm scared.

I tried to have a look but it's all so swallon. Can't see anything!

Well it's probably best that you didn't have it stitched. The doctor used local aneathetic on me but said it wouldn't fully work because it just doesn't in that area so I had lots of gas and air too. The moment he stuck the needle into me I almost kicked him in the head and I screamed soooo loud. It was quite close to my clitoris and to me the pain of having it stitched was worse than giving birth. I was pretty good during labour and didn't make a fuss but I really kicked off with the stitches.Thats why he decided to leave one part open.

At least later the aneasthetic made me so numb it didn't hurt to pee for the first 24 hours but I did feel like I was walking around with something huge between my legs.

Did you use a mirror?

I couldn't really see what was going on so grabbed a mirror and stuck it between my legs as I knew something was wrong lol

CAUTION: It can be a bit of a shock to see your new girly bits, especially if you were quite well-aquanted with your old ones - tears can be a bit disfiguring! lol

It doesn't hurt to pee anymore!

Yeah I used a mirror but it was tiny, abit afraid to see what down there looks like now haha.

I was thankful to see the girly bits seem to be as normal.

Amazing to think about how our bodies are designed to create life, and come back (almost good as before).
