Hi everyone,

i wanted to know if anyone else has cycles that keep getting longer? I came off bcp in Nov 09 and had my first af 35 days later. since then my cycles have been 27 days, 33, 37, 41 and now i am on cd42 with no sign of af. i have tested this morning and got BFN so im sure im not pregnant but wanted to know why this could be happening? it makes it so hard to calculate Ov date etc. This was my first month using opk's and i think i ov'd on 3rd june making me 17dpo today.

Its very frustrating, any ladies going through the same thing or have any advice on how i can shorten my cycles?

Thanks!

Hey! I'm similar:
32, 30, 26, 45, 46, 54:haha:

I went to the doctor, was diagnosed as PCOS, and was prescribed something to induce AF, and then Clomid to force ov. Hope it works:happydance:

It's not cycle length, more ov date:wacko:

Why not try something like Soy Isoflavones?

I came off bcp in Dec 09 and cycles were 28 days long. Then I had two 29 days long and this one was 30.

Why would this be happening??

I pretty much had this same scenario.

After coming off BCP my cycles were: 29,39,32,39,33,74,38,34
diagnosed with PCOS after U/S and blood tests

can take metformin, but am trying to lose weight first to see if it helps symptoms

Thanks guys, its nice to hear im not the only one! I have just looked up pcos- i dont seem to have any symptoms other than the irregular ovulation but i will continue to montior. went to my gp last week and he just said not to worry and its just my cycles sorting themselves out. As i cant remember how long my natural periods were before taking the bcp he is assuming they are 'normal' for me.

Quaver- i have not heard of soy isoflavones, just quickly googled and i may give them a go this month- cant hurt can it?

AF arrived today-so last cycle was 42 days, at least i can start all over again today.

Thanks for your help ladies!

Good luck Ginger:flower:
My periods has always been on the long side, right from when I was 13.
My BMI is 21, but am trying to lose weight too to see if it helps.

I'm the same way. Came off BCP in July of last year, had to induce AF in October (with lots and lots of :BFN: which was frustrating), and then every cycle has been longer and longer. 26, 27, 29, 39, 40, 44, 40. And this current cycle, :af: is very very light. Like spotting. But I'm not PG, so I guess this is just a light month?
I'm not PCOS, was worked up for that. My mom had the same problems, which is why it took her six years to get pregnant with me. But, yes, it's very frustrating, because I have no idea when my O date is! And OPKs run me a fortune! LOL.
