I am approx. 6 weeks and my doctor said that my blood work revealed low progesterone. He ordered me an progesterone suppository that I started immediately. Has anyone had this problem and then had a healthy baby? I'm concerned I may miscarry. Help!!!

I had low progesterone levels in my last 3 pregnancies. I was put on an oral progrsterone pill to take during the first trimester. Both my son and daughter were full term beautiful healthy babies. I am due with the next in April. So the pill worked for me.

Best of luck to you. I know it can be scary.

I had spotting at 8 +5 weeks and my progesterone test came back quite low at 13.6 (I'm in the US and I think we measure it in different units than in the UK). My previous pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 13 weeks, so I was terrified!

I took oral progesterone because that is what my primary doc prescribed. I think that OBs usually prescribe the suppositories because they are more effective. I took 200 mg twice a day until 13 weeks and then tapered it off for another week or so until I ran out of pills.

I'm 20 +4 now and everything is going well.

Hopefully your levels just need a little boost and everything will turn out fine! It's good that it was noticed straight away. :hugs:
