I would go back to a different doctor because when there is a proven cause for infertility they should refer you to a specialist no later than 12 months ( I am asuming that you have pcos because of the O drilling you had done? ) I personally think its better to get prescribed your own medication just to be safe xxx

Thanks for your reply. I do hav pcos. I've tried seeing 3 diff docs at my surgery but they have all said the same thing. It is just so frustrating because I'm not ovulating so haven't even got a chance of getting a natural bfp. I think the OD is still having some effect as my periods have been regular but I'm just not ovulating. I would really like to try clomid so if anyone else who reads this can help please get in touch. Thanks

Although I think there would be very few woman who would pop Clomid in the post, the LTTTC forum is probably not your best shot. I waiting almost 2 years for my clomid, and I'm hanging onto it, most ladies on here still haven't got BFPs so will be hanging on theirs too.

Probably best to ask in one of the pregnancy forums for someone that had success on it and didn't need to finish the course...

Please don't take this the wrong way but on a different area of the website you say that you have an 8 month old daughter, if that is true then you can't have been ttc for a year already. I know that waiting is frustrating, I too took a long time to conceive first time and again am taking a long time with my (hopeful) second, but I expect your doctor will take you more seriously when it really has been a year..

My daughter was born at 28 weeks but that was not because of OD or clomid etc so I apologise it has been nearly a year. I missed out the nearly. When you know you have fertility problems and not ovulating then even that length of time can be frustrating. It took so long first time my husband and I did not want to waste any time.

Have you considered going down the natural path instead of clomid?

I am not sure how many rounds of it you took before but once you reach 6 you need to be monitored (regardless of time between). I would advise you either waiting until your GP will see you or trying the herbal route. I wouldn't take clomid off the grid as if you were to develop Ovarian Hyperstimulation then what would you do?

You could try and fight your local PCT as there is a known fertility issue (this is what I did) but I am not sure if the rules are different if you already have one child?

Good Luck :flower:

Yes it is frustrating, I'm waiting for a FS to prescribe clomid and I'm LTTTC #1.
I think your doc wants you to wait longer as it may just be that you havent got back on track since having your baby.
By the way your description below your name says you're Pregnant (Expecting)
