Anyone here selling on Etsy?

I have sold a few things on eBay already, but some day I would like to sell some handmade things on Etsy.

Has anyone here ever sold on Etsy? What was your experience like?
Did it take a long time to sell things?
Any advice you could give me?

I don't sell on etsy personally but my friend knits and stuff and sells on there and she says it's fab if you need to know anything specifically then let me know and I will ask her for you when I next see her

I'd be curious to know how long it usually takes to sell something.
Also, should I have a lot of things done before I start? Or just a couple of things?
I'm a little hesitant to invest time and money to making things if I'm not sure if they'll sell, or will take forever to sell.
