Really want a new sofa, we currently have a corner sofa which is quite low, and since having SPD with DD my hips aren't yet back to normal so finding it really difficult to get off the sofa!!

So.. want a new one from DFS etc but can't afford their prices :wacko: So is what they say for real? Like 4 years no interest, pay nothing for a year etc

Please help x

I worked for a financial company many years ago and they provided the finance for DFS. If you chose the buy now, pay later option you didn't have to pay anything for a year but if you didn't pay it off then the interest was charged from the day you bought it (adding quite a substantial amount to what you owed).
However I know somebody who bought a sofa and got interest free credit and only pay about £20 a month over 4 years. The store assistants should explain what credit deal they can offer you as it will vary depending upon your credit rating. The best thing would be to get what they say in writing and check the small print when you actually sign up to the deal so they don't trick you.

We dont have a sofa from dfs however we have a laptop on finace though tesco;

We got it ona buy now pay nothing for 6months, at the end of 6months we had the option to pay off the say £400 plus a £15 early settlement fee or pay £18 a month for 41months

Hope that helps a bit :flower:

We got a sofa and swivel chair from DFS last year. Deffo just start paying it off straight away i wouldnt go for buy now pay later as you're just delaying your payments.

When you buy the sofa it is JUST the sofa price divided by the number of years you want to pay, we chose 3 years and pay £42 per month :)

We also added the £150 insurance which covers spills and that is included in our £42 per month. It was sprayed with something at the factory and ive had Skye spill Spag bol sauce on it and literally just wiped it off and there's no trace!

We got a sofa from DFS last year, we chose to pay it off over 12 months so have been paying £135 a month with no interest, we also added the insurance.

Ours is 24 a month for 4 years. We have 2 left. We opted not to delay payment for a year. :)

wow that's one amazing spill guard!
We bought an Ikea sofa as they were the only ones I could find which had removable covers - a necessity with toddlers :thumbup:

We had two DFS sofa, when we brought our first house and had no money. So we had the offer where we paid nothing for 1 year and then 3 years interest free.

BUT DFS sofa's are expensive for the quality, even when they offer the "double discount" which is basically the double the price of them and then charge the correct price when they have their "sales".

So I would recommend shopping around. You may find it cheaper to buy a cheaper sofa with interest paying credit.
