I'm making mine mid Nov and I'll feed it every week a couple of tablespoons.

This year I'm gonna try and find a alcohol free recipe as I really dislike brandy :(

I am going to try again and make one,I made one a couple of years ago and came to conclusion I would buy one..I did but now ready for attempt number 2 and I will feed it abouts once a week, x

my gran makes hers 25 sept and feeds hers every 2 weeks but not with brandy, with guiness!

we do! We make it in October and feed it every week, if it's me feeding it i give it 2/3 tablespoons also, if my OH does it about half a bottle goes in every week :dohh:

Blah, my dad used to make christmas cake for his friend who was a recovering alcoholic and used pure OJ and lemon juice mixture. Went down very well every time

I'll be making mine after the 14th November and feed it once a week.

i really dont like christmas cake but u have to have something dont u!! im sure none of the other family like it either so wil be a total waste if i make one, think i will just make load of xmas biscuits/mince pies etc instead and buy a nice cheesecake for pudding

We have done that before a non-alcoholc cake, can't remember if it was OJ or apple juice we used though

Oh thanks! I also found one that has a bit of beer in it so it lasts a tad longer but doesn't taste of alcohol

I just made the Nigella one and it so far looks good, was a little worried cooking it but after 3.5 hours on lower oven than she said i had to go to dentist and it wasnt done so i turned oven off left it in and it cooked perfectly to finish without burning...my last attempt did burn!

Work a look at that recipe!
