Anyone naming baby after someone?

I know it sounds silly but i would love to name my child after a famous rockstar like the name Saul (slash from guns'n'roses!) would be cool and i really LOVE the name Morrison (after jim morrison from the doors) but i mentioned it to my mum and she absoloutly freaked haha i cant help it its such a cool name!

LO has Kim for his middle name. Kim is OH's younger brother's name. He passed away about 6 years ago & OH missed him so much he even has Kim tattooed on himself.

if we have a boy his middle name will be phillip after my Grandad- he died 8 yrs ago and since we lost him i have always wanted to use his name for a boys middle name.

my little boy (when he comes, lol) will have his 2 middle names named after mine & my OH's grandads who both passed away in 2004. (George & Arthur). But for his first name, we want something that no one in our families have been called yet.... which is proving very difficult indeed!

My Grandpa passed away when I was 8. We were close so I wanted to name a son after him. His name was Godfrey Spencer. If we have a boy, his first name will be Spencer.

Cameron's middle name is Jacob after OH and this one will be named Tyler after my husbands best friend who was in the Navy with him and died in Iraq and his middle name will be duncan after my grandmother's maiden name. She was an incredible woman who passed away entirely too soon last year and was my best friend. He will have a lot to ive up to in his names. As Im sure he will. And if we have another....

If a girl then her name will be Katelynne Elizabeth-Lynne after my mother and Elizabeth after our childrens god mother.

If a boy then weve got a lot of thinking to do!! But probably Andrew Joseph-Andrew after my dad and Joseph after OH's father

Hahaha! I just seriously thought "what a funny way to name your kids, Katelynne Elizabeth-Lynne and Andrew Joseph-Andrew"
Then I realised that the names aren't hyphenated but you just explained who they're named after. Have to say I'm somewhat reliefed now though.

My little mans middle name will be after my dad.Which is because I wanted to keep part of my familys name but OH didnt want me to use my surname as the middle name so I compromised with using my dads name.If that makes sense.

my eldest is rebekah ivy rebekah is after becky in the tom sawyer books(my fave story as a child) and ivy is after her paternal great nan who died before she was born

thomas brian....again from the tom sawyer books and brian after my dad.

william edward.....after my maternal(william) and paternal(edward) grandads.

charlotte rebecca.....the rebecca is after my eldest daughter who was there when she was born.

ethan stephen....ethan is the screen name my hubby was using when i met him in an online chatroom, and stephen is his real name!

and finally little ernie is named after my father in law who passed away in 1995.

well if we have a boy his first name will be Daniel and his middle name will be Alan after my grandad who died last year, he helped us so much, and he would have been so proud to be a great grandad. So hopefully if it is a boy my grandad will live on in him. God help us if it is a girl we can't agree on a first name not alone a middle one.

We are having a boy and he will be called Arthur George after DH's wonderful dad who is still with us but is very ill. He's an amazing man and we both love him dearly. People have turned their nose up at our name but I don't care. We love it, it means something to us, it has substance and yeah it's a bit different, especially nowadays. I love it and I think of him as Arthur now, I just really hope it suits him because as much as you may like a name there is always a chance it just totally won't suit the child when you finally meet them. xxx

My grandfather was called arthur....we wanted something a bit different so we were going to call our bump Art if he was a boy. i love the meaning of arthur 'little bear'. My sister has since dibs it which means we cant use it but im glad it will stay in the fmaily. Great choice

my ds is deacon james (james is oh maternal grandad who he wasvery close to) and dd is winter elizabeth (elizabeth is carried down my family). next one will be ostyn william after my grandad, and dh dad, but absolutely no ideas if its a girl althouhg, i would like to acknowledge family members. dh has other ideas though, and does make some ridiculous suggestions - jenson (f1driver), rod (stuart- yeah right!)

Connors middle name is Edward after my grandad who died 3 years ago. I was so close to my grandad and it meant so much to me for connor to have my grandads name as his middle name

we picked angel cos shes always gunna be daddys little angel , marie her middle name is her aunties middle name.
caden wa the only boys name we cud agree on and his middle name shud ave bin martin after his daddy, but we didnt think it went so picked james instead we call him cj for short
