anyone on progesterone only pill?

Hi all. I have been on the progesterone only pill for just over two months. And I have been spotting for 40 days now, although I have spoken to a nurse a fortnight ago she said spotting was normal. However the past two days I've had heavy bleeding and cramps and feeling very much on my period.

Is this normal? Or am I alone on this one? I'm not sure if I need to visit my GP about it or just give it till the end of the 3rd month packet.

It can really vary per woman- my oldest went on the pill (because she has endo)- and we went through a LOT of different kinds before we found what worked for her. She always gave it 3 full months though- just in case her body needed time to adjust. But with one, yeah, she spotted the entire time! Not ok. We had her try the patch too... for her though, after seeing a specialist, they recommended the no 'estrogen' pill- and it's great for her. But for others, I've heard you need a little estrogen (or sometimes more) to help with periods.

Sorry I'm not much more help- I would for sure recommend you try something else though if this continues. It very well could if it's already been 40 days!

Thanks for reply. I've been worried about it being so heavy and the continual bleed/spotting. If it continues I will visit my GP I have 20 days left of my third month pack so hoping it will settle down
