I know this may not be the best place to post this- but I didn't get any responses the few times I tried on other area's... and loads more people view this area.

Basically, sex has been painful since LO was born (used to be ubber painful, but now it's a burning sensation and uncomfortable). After months of trying to figure out why- thinking it was BV or just "how it was"... and now all tests come back "normal"... I *think* I have Vulvar Vestibulitis syndrome (related to Vulvadynia).

I haven't been officially diagnosed yet- still waiting to get an appt with the specialist in my area. But it can be 6-8 mos out as they are so backed up and only see patients with this type of syndrome one day a week!

It would be nice to find support- not that I'm hoping anyone else has to go through what I'm going through... but I know it's more common than I initially thought.

If anyone is in a similar situation and would like to talk for support... I'm here. I could use some support myself. It's been difficult.

Thanks ladies... :flower:

UPDATE:

Just in case this post may help anyone else- I got into another OB, one who is familiar with what I *thought* I had (Vulvadynia)... and... I don't have that- what happened was the tissue around my V opening (sorry tmi) was dry and thin- either due to hormones or pregnancy? Who knows for sure-- but, she gave me an estrogen cream, and I am using a different lubricant (all organic and natural to cut down on irritation)-- and honestly, it's helping!!!! YAY ME! :happydance:

I'm not back to 100% yet- but just in the past 2wks things have improved GREATLY! I'm very glad I found someone that knows her stuff... also, irritated that my usual OB didn't figure that out (seems like something she should have?!)-- but happy none the less...

I know hubby is happy too! :haha:

Hi!

I have the similar burning sensation and it seems it also starts when walking a distance?? I have been given antibiotics, medication for thrush and UTI's and still get them. It burns quite badly when being intimate and I am really fed up with this.

^^I am truly sorry hun. I understand your pain. LITERALLY. It burns SO bad when my hubby and I have sex... sometimes worse or less... but always... I even noticed just getting my paps is more painful since LO. Although I've always been "more sensative" this is just OTT and so beyond frustrating.

I would really recommend you try to find a Vulvadynia specialist in your area. Can't hurt to see if that is the cause- and maybe there is some treatments that can help. It's hard, cause it can vary depending on the degree of pain and location. And sometimes surgery is needed to remove the affected tissue... um, not a fun thought. But honestly, at this point, after almost 20mos of this -- I would do just about anything that would help.

Here is some great info from Web MD to check out: https://women.webmd.com/guide/vulvodynia

I've read to get blood checked for vitamin deficiencies (so I might do that too)- that sometimes muscle relaxers can help... IDK... I just want to get diagnosed and go from there. The waiting is the worst though... :hugs:

Wanted to *bump* up after my update... :)

Just a note to say 'thanks!'
I still have some pain, burning and tearing at the point of entry  Dry/thin skin kinda makes sense. I am gonna try some different lube (maybe one for menopausal women?) and give it a go :winkwink:

Thanks for updating. Really glad u got some relief! Xxxx

I am so glad you are better! My OB gave me cream with cortisone, because she said she can see some scarring. It was also dry and thin and could possibly be hormones. It seems to work, but then I also got the HPV vaccination because I am diagnosed with it and that can also irritate the skin. Seems much better for me as well.

Thanks for posting! I get burning and tearing when i have sex still.. Its so painful. It also feels swollen and hot afterwards? I might take myself off to the docs. Are you from the USA? We dont have OBs here, that im aware of, though we do have sexual health clinics which might be worth a visit :)

Yes- in the US. They don't have OBs'? Really? That just seems so odd to me- lol- but I guess that's because I've always seen one for things down below- as well as during my pregnancy (OBGYN). Could you see a Gynocologist? Or really, anyone with experience down there could be useful (like the sexual health clinic)- although my regular OBGYN had no clue... lucky I just found this woman by calling around different clinics and asking questions... eesh. Shouldn't have to be THAT difficult- especially after 20mos of pain... I do hope you get it figured out. Could be something so simple like what I had. Best of luck!!!
