Some bloods good, some bloods OK, some bloods BAD!! Apparently

hcg <2 = good
FSH - 12 = goodish (cos my cycle is whack this month it is spot on for mid cycle but slightly high for FP or LP but NOT menopausal as that would have to be in the 20-140 range)
LH = 1 - good if I am in LP - should start to rise if in FP but we have no idea where I am in my cycle cos it is all nutso!!
Oestradiol - 39 = BAD!! if I am in FP it should be 110-180, if I am in LP should be 180-840 or if mid cycle it should be 550-1650 ranges.
Progesterone <.05 - Good if I am in FP, low if I am in mid cycle and very low if I am in LP ranges are <0.5-2.5 for LP, 2.5-12 for mid and 12.0-90.0 if in LP

My cycle is so messed up this month that we have no idea at what stage I am!!! My chart is whacko, advised not to split it but leave it as is with the 2 bleeds etc so FS can see what has been going on. (my doc loves the charts!!!)

HOWEVER GP said the oestradiol was a bad level but I did some research (as I do lol) and I found this!
A blood estradiol level on day 3 (we do it on any day between days 2 and 4) of the menstrual cycle is a way to potentially discover some of those women with a normal day 3 FSH that may in fact have decreased egg quantity and quality.

What we want on day three is a low FSH level in conjunction with a low estradiol level. If the FSH is normal but the estradiol level is elevated, the elevated estradiol will often be artificially "suppressing" the FSH level down to the normal range.

The idea of using day 3 estradiol levels as an adjunct in evaluating egg quantity and quality is relatively recent. Clearly defined cutoff values for normal are not well established. We like to see the day 3 estradiol less than about 80. We repeat borderline or abnormal results in another menstrual cycle to try to get a "true" FSH.

There is some evidence that an elevated day 3 estradiol indicates a problem with ovarian reserve. This is sometimes the case, but often the issue is just that the elevated estrogen level is "masking" the potential for detecting low reserve by suppressing FSH into the normal range.

so erm I am at 39 which is less than 80 but yes way way way lower than any of the ranges I was given.

confused much - hell yeah!!!!!

Didnt want to read and run, but I cant help you. Hope someone can, because I am having CD22 bloods done on Saturday. By the time I get the results, perhaps I'll understand them!

good luck mellybelle, I'll share if I find anything out!! just what does it all mean!!!

OK, if they dont know for sure where your at in your cycle, then how can they say that these levels are good or bad, you know what i mean. I sure hope you can get everything worked out.

I am hearing ya!!! I was bleeding still on cd4 when the bloods were done and all I have read re reasons for low estradiol is that they will be low if still on AF, albeit my second one in 10 days!!

Confused much lol!!

Can't wait to see what FS says next week, limbo land sucks! TWW, WFO, WTT etc etc pregnancy is the Latin word for waiting right?!!!

I have the Estradiol/FSH thing happen in my cycles. My "real" CD3 FSH is 16 but when my Estradiol is elevated it suppresses my FSH and brings it down around to 5-7.

From the #'s I would have guessed LP with a progesterone deficiency but the Estradiol # has me totally confused.
Unless you maybe need an estrogen supplement.

I'm comparing your #'s to my CD8 and CD10 levels I am in the FP and getting close to ovulation so my Progesterone is 0.2 and my Estradiol is rising.

I would think they would do several blood tests to see if the numbers go up or down.

Sorry I can't help but hang in there , I was told still bleeding would make mine out of whack so we waited for cd 21 . Fingers crossed things straighten out

there are three reasons why your results could be the way they are..... it could be and please don't quote me (this is from personal experence)

it could be a sign of lack of ovulation
it could be the sign you have minimal eggs
or it could be a homronal defect
(they might even through around the words premature menopause) i really hope you get some answers soon have you been refered to infertility specialist.

thanks ladies, I asked him if it meant perimenopausal and he said nup definitely not cos the other numbers don't support that. It could be an anomally and will do more tests. If it was the FSH would be way higher which it wasn't. Plus I was in a very heavy bleed when tests were done hence the tests being prompted so he reckons the tests need to be done on a "normal cycle". I have had the AMH (egg timer) test done and will get the results of that on July 5th when we go back and doing one round of 5omg clomid next cycle if this one is not successful. He thinks I am definitely ovulating as all my charts are clearly biphasic etc. So we will wait and see.

I will let you know.

and thanks again
