Hey Ladies,

I started taking some supplements & one of them is Fertilaid.
It promoted good healthy, strong uterine lining & increase in libido!
I did a bit more research last night & found some horrid reviews on it by woman who have regular cycles & ovulating regularly that it has stopped them from Ovulating, stopped their periods & took months to get back to 'normal'.
I stopped taking them as of last night once I read this. I have only been taking it for 7 days....but I am so worried now I screwed up this month taking the supplements. Anyone else stop using it part way & turned out OK? Or...not OK?

Thanks!

I haven't tried fertilitea but I have heard how powerful some herbs can be and it doesn't surprise me that they could mess up someone's cycle. I'm sure you're fine though, you were only drinking it for a week. There are lots of wonderful ladies on here who drink fertilitea so I'm sure you will get more helpful answers!!

:dust:

Thank you!
I am sure that I'm OK too provided I only took it for 1 week...but my fertile period is starting in 2 days, which is why I'm nervous. I dont want to do anything to screw this process!
I am currently using FertilCM & Evening Primrose which I'm OK to continue.
I just wish that there was a warning with the FertileAid for woman with regular cycles.

There definitely should be a warning it contains some pretty powerful stuff.

I have heard stories like that, too. I decided to take FertilAid but only 1 or 2 capsules per day and not the recommended 3. I have irregular cycles so I may not know anyways.

How irregular are you speaking of? If you mean you have them every month or so but they are long - like 30,35,40 days - but you have an obvious consistent cycle that is one thing.
But if you are irregular as in you never know when one will show up and it only happens a few times a year, it couldn't hurt to take Fertilaid full dose.

My cycles can range anywhere from 30-60 days. Occasionally even longer than 60 days. I personally can't take the full dosage of FertilAid becuase I have IBS and it upsets my stomach if I take more than 2 per day. I usually only take 1 per day.

Ah I see, that's a shame it bothers your stomach.

I know. They say it doesn't have any side effects, but for me it does. I always take it with food which helps, too. :)

Well I am happy to say that after stopping FertilAid after the first week - I did ovulate this cycle....
I still wish that the site I bought it off had any mention about taking it only if you need your cycles regulated. Lesson learned that I won't take any supplement without doing more research first!

I am 3dpo...& anxious to find out if our BD worked this cycle!

Did you order directly from FairHaven Health or another site?

i ordered it from a Canadian site called makeababy.ca

I order from the Canadian site because it gets delivered right away. In fact I could have it by next day if I wanted. And I kinda ordered it last minute & needed to start taking them.
I usually do a lot of research but never thought based on the description, what the downsides to it could be.

Hi,

I just came across this post with researching FertilAid and regular cycles. Even though this is a few months after the original post, I thought I'd post about my experience.

DH and I have been ttc for a year. My cycles are pretty regular at 30 +/- 1 day.

After having 2 MC, I decided to try FertilAid. I thought the "hormone balancing" might help. I figured it couldn't hurt and saw there was far more positive reviews over the negatives ones. When I first looked into FertilAid, I saw a lot of good reviews, more good than bad. I assume there would be some bad as not everything works for everyone. What I didn't do was read the bad reviews and the good in more detail. Majority of the good reviews I have read have been from women with irregular cycles and the bad ones from those with regular cycles. I have yet to find a good review from anyone who has a regular cycle.

First cycle on FertilAid was 51 days with very little CM, didn't O and ended up with a ruptured cyst on CD51. AF lasted 3 days, and I'm normally 5. I wasn't sure if this was due to FertilAid, or if it was just coincidence, so I continued to take FertilAid the following the month.

Next cycle was 25 days, temps were all over the place. CBFM reported no peaks. I had High from CD8-CD9, then on CD10 CBFM said low so it stopped asking for tests. I don't know if I actually O'd this cycle. I'm assuming I did around day 11, because CM was watery and had a dip in temp. Temp rose for the next 2 days, but then dropped again. Temp rose again on CD19 and remained high until CD25

FertilAid's website says, it takes 3 months for it to be effective, so I'm trying to decide if I should continue them or not. I have a few pills left to finish off Bottle #2, (forgot to take them on a few days - but perhaps that's why this cycle was better?).

I have also been taking 3 pills at the same time instead of spreading it out through the day. The bottle & website is a bit confusing regarding this. The bottle says a serving size = 3. It also says take 3 capsules per day. My bottle didn't specify that it should be spread out. DH has been taking FertilAid for men and his bottle specifically says 1 pill 3 times a day.

I had a look at fairhavenhealth's website (forum won't let me post the link) + "fertilaid-for-women" (without the quotes) + html page regarding this and found a Q&A where someone asked if they could take all 3 at the same time and customer service said yes. So, this is what I did.

However, I also found (tonight) another Q&A further down the page where someone asked a similar question with taking FertilAid and FertilCM all at the same time (6 pills) and customer service responded with no, the pills should be split to 3 times a day with taking 1 FertilAid for Womand and 1 FertilCM together. So, I'm not sure if by taking 3 pills together has messed anything up. But it's likely it wouldn't have made any difference based on what I've seen from those who had a regular cycle prior to taking FertilAid.

I'm still deciding if I'm going to do one more month, but it's unlikely. Part of me thinks I should, would hate for cycle 3 of FertilAid to be the one that puts it all right, but likewise, don't want to waste another month. I'm 38 so time isn't exactly on my side.

Since you have normal cycles Fertilaid isn't the right thing for you to be taking. If you had 2 MC then you need to be looking at what caused them.
The most common reason would be chromosomal, which we can't do anything to stop.
But, you could also have a luteal phase defect or low progesterone. Has your doctor looked into either of those? They are easily corrected.
B50 or B100 complex ( must take as a complex) is very good for lengthening luteal phase, and it also helps you have a strong ovulation. Natural progesterone cream can also help with the low progesterone.
However, if your doctor tests and finds that you have low progesterone, he can prescribe progesterone suppositories that you take starting 3 DPO, so you can sustain a pregnancy.

I agree with the above post. FertilAid can be taken all capsules at once, but in my opinion any medication/supplement that has you taking more than 1/day should be divided, especially something like this. It shouldn't hurt that you took them all at once, but maybe you'd want to try divided doses to see if that changes anything. I have irregular cycles and FertilAid made them even more irregular ao I stopped taking it. It also caused some stomach upset for me as I have a sensitive stomach and I was told by customer service that it does not cause stomach upset at all. I like a lot of the other products FairHaven Health has so I still support their business, just not with FertilAid.

Also, my hubby and I have noticed that the FertilAid didn't help any more than him taking a multivitamin, Zinc 50mg (his multivitamin has no zinc in it), and Vitamin C 500mg daily. The multivitamin, Vitamin C, and Zinc are way cheaper, too!

Oh just wanted to add, I'm currently taking Vitex myself, but that's because I have irregular cycles ( at the most 3 a year), and it HAS been working to make me have more frequent cycles.

Thanks for the replies. Wished their website was clearer on who should/can take it. I thought it might help balance out oestrogen/progesterone hormones. I suspected that I might have had low progesterone at both mc. Mainly, because I was under a lot of stress both times, and read that the stress hormones can mess up the progesterone levels. Don't know if it's true or not.

GP wouldn't refer me until I had 3 miscarriages or had been trying a year, which ever came first. I finally got a referral 6 weeks ago, still waiting on an appointment though. GP office have confirmed they sent the referral and said, it could take up to 3 months for an appointment. Hopefully hear something soon.

We both have stopped talking FertilAid. DH is now taking a regular multivitamin. He struggled to take 3 capsules a day with FertilAid. Good point on the Zinc & vitamin C, I'll make sure we get some. I've now started taking Mother To Be by Sanatogen (was on sale at my local supermarket).

Hopefully, things will get on the right track soon.

Thanks again ladies :)

I really get offended when doctors say you have to have three miscarriages before they offer any other help. Like seriously?? What are these doctors thinking? Apparently they haven't suffered a loss themselves. :(
