Last year I was diagnosed with vulvadynia, and after lot's of research I have found out it is vulvadynia vestibulitus. I just wondered whether there is anyone on here with the same condition?
It basically means that I have never been able to have penatrative sex (i am 26) because my vulva has two small areas that cause me extreme pain when touched (even very lightly) and therefore I can't even wear tampons.
I have a wonderful fiance, and we have a good sex life despite the problem, but when we decided we wanted a baby, my doctor was only interested in trying to find people to refer me to who may be able to help with the vulvadynia, including his latest attempted referral to a psycho-sexual therapist (he admits he knows nothing about the condition) which really wound me up.
Anyway, my fiance and I decided to start trying anyway, but due to us not being able to have sex it has been difficult. This was our first month trying, and used opk's to work out when I was ovulating, and a tube connected to a syringe (both sterilised) to insert the sperm.
I'm 10dpo today and praying I won't have to go through it all again next month, but knowing that I probably will. It's still uncomfortable even with the small tube, but bearable.
Is there anyone going through anything similar?
