My stepsister has decided that since Halen is a bit of a wingey baby he is clearly not fed properly and I should give him a bottle as I'm starving him :saywhat:

Apparently he should just sleep all the time and when he is awake he should be happy and content, not crying.

He doesn't cry for no reason, he crys cause he's got a dirty bum, or I'm changing his nappy or clothes (he hates both and screams blue murder at me the whole time!)

I'm really upset at what she's said, as if it's not hard enough feeding, to have family critise as well :(

 OMG .. what is wrong with some people!?

Dont let her upset you hun, some people are so narrow minded and think they know it all when they don't have a single clue.

Im sure your doing great, some people think that babies arnt allowed to make a single noise!
All babies cry .. doesn't matter how their fed, they get hungry, tired, board, need winding, want picking up, want putting down etc etc the list is endless!

Just ignore her hun :hugs:

Sorry to hear she is being unsupportive, as long as he is putting on weight an hv is happy he's feeding well. :)

For god sake, he's only 2 weeks old, he's just figuring out what the world is about at the moment! Just ignore her :ignore:

:hugs: Sounds like you're doing great so ignore her! Sam was the same at Halen's age - there was always something that needed doing, like feeding, changing, getting clothes changed etc. so he didn't have much time to be happy and content while he was awake as he hated being changed at first too - he did get used to it after a few weeks though, and I'm sure Halen will too x

Thaniks for the replies, considering lost 6oz in the first 5 days and had put it all back on by day 11, I've gotta be doing something right as the HV said that was really good

:ignore: She's falling back on her many years of BFing or medical training I presume??

You are doing a fabby job. Just remind her when he's awake he's learning about the world.

x

That's a great weight gain too! As long as you're happy, baby's happy and HV is content, that's all that matters :hugs:

I think your doing a fab job :)

I have only had a couple of people go on about giving Lucas a bottle (this was back in the early days) and funnily enough when I got to the bottom of their reasoning for giving it a bottle it pretty much came down to the fact that other people could feed him, like them !!!

I do give him ebm but when other people have given it to him they end up giving him more air than anything else so I just do it myself now.

Sounds like my MIL lol

Lol more like her 1year of formula feeding experience.

She has never been around BF and has no experience of anyone who has

I had all that crap from the girls at work and my MIL, ignore them hun!!
Its normally people who didnt BF and know nothing about it that are so full of advice :hugs: xxx

Youa re doing great xx

You are doing just fine. His cries are telling your body what he needs. Those ques are soo important for you both right now.
