On Thursday my parents took me shopping as I would like a Bergaus coat and my dad said he would get me one, so we went to Winfields and they only go up to size 18, which would of gone round my waist but not my boobs and hips, so I tried on a few mens and they were far to big!

So the salesman mentioned Arco, they get a lot of coats in and to try there.

So when we got there i found the perfect coat after trying on at least 20! It was £71.99 and when I took it to the till the man said that its priced wrong and its actually £180!!! So i said that the ticket says £71.99 and so does the rack where it was hung up along with the rest at the same price, he said sorry there is no way we can sell it for that!

So I stormed out, now my dad said ring Arco and complain, but the only number coming up is for that store what if i get that man? He will just ignore me!

If it was priced as £71.99 on the label attached to the coat I am pretty sure they have to honour that price x

TBH there is no policy saying they have to sell it at that price (most stores will honor their mistake though), worth complaining though.

Stores don't have to honour the price but in most cases they will do it as a gesture of goodwill. But they are not obliged to xxx

So I can make a complaint but they will stand by there right to change the price then. Seems pointless :(

Just for your information, here is a link to a guide regarding the law surrounding buying goods. Basically the assistant was within his rights not to sell you the coat at the price on the ticket.

https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/sale-of-goods/your-rights-pricing-disputes/your-rights/

I would still give their head office a call because you might get some kind of voucher or discount for your inconvenience as a gesture of goodwill xx

Complain anyway as you never no what will happen
