are expensive clothes worth buying?

I like to buy decent clothes, but I do find that all the clothes get stained regardless of how expensive or cheap they are. I let my kids get dirty though - if they want to crawl through the mud, then ok! My only thing about clothes is that they can't be overly fussy or not machine washable.

my son mainly has next prob 90% of his wardrobe but he also has things from supermarkets asda is best in my opinion and some from matalan, boots and mothercare. i find it all lasts him about the same amount of time but its mainly the next stuff that washes best and is what ive kept for next baby

lyssa has a combination- we have some things that are saved purely for childcare/messy play- and the we have nice clothes
she has a lot of next- and some wahm clothes also. all of which wash, wear and sell on well x

Dd has a mixture. I find quality varies from garment to garment as well as brand to brand but I generally find the high street stuff washes better than the supermarket but haven't found the few designer/slightly pricier items she has (Benetton, oilily, joules etc) to be significantly better quality for the price.

Expensive clothes just for special occasions, cheaper but still nice dresses (next/supermarkets/monsoon) get worn on days where we don't do messy play, and the rest is cheap as chips.
A lot of her clothes are stained though, she has a fondness for raspberries and blackberries and the juice is a nightmare to get out...think I'd be peeved if I'd spent a lot of money on them, but a £15 dress I don't mind too much.

Most my lbs clothes are next as they fit his body shape better

Asda etc i was buying twice as quick as next. So id spent £3 twic. On a tshirt or £5 once at next. So in long run the more expensive was cheaper

Up until now most of ds's clothes have been sainsburys or John Lewis. None of us spend loads on labels for clothes, so I naturally wouldn't for ds either. I'll get the odd thing from primark, but find it shrinks in the wash - and their selection for boys is RUBBISH compared to girls. Not uncommon in lots of shops :(

I've just bought a load of stuff from vertbaudet with a 25% off code, so hopefully their clothes are good!

Charlie has a mix of clothes, I don't buy really cheap because it goes out of shape really fast imo and is a total false economy. I like Gap, Zara, H&M for general everyday wear and he has some pricier stuff for going out - I like clothes that last and Charlie doesn't seem to ruin his clothes so lucked out there :) my sister buys him the odd designer item and it really does hold shape and colour better, in my experience anyway.

I mainly shop at Next and GAP and just get 4/5 outfits in each size. :) xx

I rarely ever bought expensive clothes for my kids. I try to be careful with what my kids are wearing when we eat messy things, but they manage to stain EVERYthing they own. I try to make sure the kids only go out to play or do crafts in cheap clothes, but they still manage to rip up and destroy their nicer outfits. Then, when LO starts potty training, pee gets everywhere/on everything. Yeah, no thanks. lol. But hey, if you can afford it, and that's what you wanna do, then more power to ya! Just make sure you have plenty of stain remover on hand. ;)

I DO buy an expensive outfit here and there for special occasions or just because it's too adorable to pass up (says my wife). lol
