just wondering what to do. lo is on two bottles of formula a day now, and drinks cows milk or water in his sippy cup with meals.
should i swap the bottles of formula for cows milk when he turns one next month?
what do you ladies do? or plan to do?

I originally switched Dd to toddler milk. But she ate really well and varied, plus the milk smelled very sweet so I switched her to cows milk asap. With ds I'm going to see how well he eats but if I still feel he needs formula then I'm going to stick with 6m plus milk rather than going onto toddler milk, and change him straight to cows milk when it feels appropriate.

My LO is a very poor eater and also quite skinny, so we give him toddler formula. It is slightly cheaper than the infant formula, but the same kind of thing. Only notable difference I think is slightly higher iron and calcium. It isn't sweet or flavoured, it's the same yucky formula taste haha. No idea why he likes it! He has some in the morning and before bed, and at nap times he has a half and half bottle of formula and cows milk mixed.

I switched my son to cows milk at 12 months and will with my daughter. I give my son and will give my daughter a vitamin and mineral supplement alongside cows milk.

I stopped all but the bedtime bottle at 1, and then stopped the bedtime bottle at about 14-15 months. After that it was all cows milk or water. Plan to do the same with Eddy. He is down to 3 bottles a day now and I hope to drop down to 2 by 10-11 months and then gradually drop the other 2 as and when.

my son was still on formula at 2 years old (the 6month plus variety) on the advice of health visitor and specialists. Any meal he had that had milk in (i.e mash potatoe) also had to be made with formula. He is very small for his age so formula was better for him than cows milk. x

I switched ds to cow's milk right at 12 months and will do the same with lo. I just mixed the bottles half and half for about 2 or 3 days and then right to the milk. Ds didn't seem to even notice lol.

I kept DS on growing up milk until just shy of 2 but he was a very poor weight gainer. DD I will decide nearer the time depending on how well she eats/gains weight etc.

i swapped her to toddler milk for about 3 months, no idea why really.. x

we're still on formula, 14 months and starting to cut it down now she is eating last week she had about 20-30oz a day, today she had 3!!!

However this is prescription as she has cows milk allergy (challenging next week)

if she ate well and could have CM then i would most likely give her that, but as she is a poor eater and slow to gain weight i'd give her formula
