Are you doing a birth plan?

Hi ladies

I had a birth plan when I had DS which ended in EMCS. I've chosen to have a planned c-sec this time and wondered whether its worth doing a plan?

Are u doing one and if so what have u put in it? Xxx

I never had a plan for my births, but I think its a great idea. I know I wanted to bf baby as soon as I was in recovery which they allowed me to do anyways. Do you have any ideas? I am pregnant with #3 now and will be going to a completely new dr and we're in a new town so I'm a little nervous about how they do things here.

I've no ideas to be honest. I'm very relaxed about it all and I'm returning to the fab hosp where I had DS.

I guess I will do one though and stipulate that I want skin to skin time quickly as poss... And that I want to breast feed ASAP xx

The only thing that was important to me is to have skin to skin contact and be able to breastfeed when I was in recovery. Luckily my hospital is pro breastfeeding so I didn't have a problem at all.

I have never had a c section and this pregnancy for the first time I did fill out a birth plan. I think they are really nice to have especially since if you are scheduled for a c section and would go before that date then you have it lined out what you want. Even if you do have the c section this allows them to know what you want as well from feeling baby as they take him/her out to holding him/her before anyone else ect.

I didn't do one formally in my notes but told the midwife who was with me what I wanted (skin to skin, baby with me ASAP) and she made sure it all happened

Yes! I am asking for skin to skin right away, no vaccines, nursing right away, not being seperated from my baby. And being the one to announce the gender when baby is freshly pulled out. I hav a midwife going into the section with me to support me as well

I never had one for the last pregnancy as mine was an elective csec. This time round i ask for a VBAC and written a birth plan.

I didn't have a birth plan with my last pregnancy but I think I will have a few request this time around. I probably wont write it down but will just tell my doc what I am wanting. Since I am having a scheduled C-section they will mainly be about a few things I want to happen directly after birth while still in the OR. I will probably talk to him when delivery day is closer and then again on the actual day. So excited!!

I never made one, didn't see the point. it never went the way you wanted it anyways well not for me. just go with what happens at the time x
