Arghh lumps :(

LO will not eat lumps and he gets so upset when I try him on them

He will eat finger foods no problem and completely smooth purees but anything that's lumpy he will not eat, spits it straight back out and then cries and clamps his mouth shut. I tried the Ella's kitchen stage 2 pouches which are textured not lumpy but he wont even eat them.

Should I keep trying him on the mashed food and give him smooth if I get no joy? Do I stop offering him smooth altogether and hope he'll get used to the texture and lumps? I'm stuck as to what to do but I hate seeing him so upset

Hi hun. I mashed for 2 wks only at 6.5 mnths. at 7 mnths I was giving Omar frm what we'r having without mashing. I started with well cooked pasta with cream or tomato sauce, & it went great. Omar prefers food cut into pieces. Maybe he doesnt like the taste of baby food. Did u try giving him from what u'r eating instead?

I spoon feed Omar but only real food, & he likes dry food cut into pieces more than runny food with lumps in it. Other than few fruit pots & baby custard, he hated all baby food.

Maybe you could try just offering him more of a variety of finger foods if he readily accepts and eats real food.

Most meals can be turned into easily manageable finger food.

It's real food that I'm offering him but blitzed up a bit, maybe I'll jus try giving him pasta and stuff not blitzed and see how that goes thanks everyone x
