ASDA delivery cancelled because I'm a security risk?!!

wow how strange my first thought was the people who lived there before you causing hassle
i live in what some people would class as a "rough" area and have never had a problem getting asda to deliver
i hope they give you a good reason for cancelling it

i would be mad and definately try to get to the bottom of it

just for the record though, supermarkets dont do credit searches unless you are applying for a financial product with them

I'd read somewhere that they do? Not all of them, only Asda? x

just to let you know, they've stopped 'blacklisting' properties now. a debt goes with the individual if they move. xx

mail order and delivery companies do sometimes black list properties that are perceived to be risky not financially; but to their staff, and I really think there is some type of agency they use that gives them this info as pizza hut and papa johns blacklisted this estate on the same day but they are two completely unrelated companies (except for the fact they both do pizza lol) this estate is newbuild but maybe its the fact its flats and down a private road that is a problem to them. Two days earlier I ordered from papa johns with no problem so its a joke really

no they dont, doing a credit search for someone who was grocery shopping online would serve no purpose whatsoever. multiple searches on your record are detrimental to your credit rating

and it is also true and has been for many many years thet properties are not blacklisted. credit ratings are dont on the person, not the address, although they do take in to consideration people who you are linked to

It could be that the previous tenant has caused problems for them. Our old address was blacklisted with loads of different taxi companies because the tenant there before us used to get a taxi then run off without paying lol so we used to have to ring for one and give them next doors address

What a pain! I agree you need to get to the bottom of it. I hate online shopping- takes me ages to do my order and I would be gutted if they cancelled it!

We use Asda home delivery and the only time theyve cancelled my order is when my wages havent gone in or theres been a delay etc. We usually have excellent service from their drivers and customer care and use them all the time. I hope you get some answers.
X

Thanks ladies. Still no answer but I'll update you when an email comes through. No doubt it'll be some standard email but hopefully there are more contact details to find out more info if that is the case.

As for the blacklisting, I looked it up earlier and found on The Telegraph website a piece confirming that agencies don't blacklist properties anymore. But maybe specific places are flagged for warning? I don't know, it seems such a nuisance.

Oh and Lellow, I'm in a similar situation still getting previous tenants post. Several weeks back we had a few items delivered for them. I had a couple of 'whilst you were out' cards from royal mail which I obviously couldn't pick up but also had 2 items delivered when I was in. Didn't know what to do with them as there was no return address and then one day recently, previous tenant slips a note in my door saying she had accidently ordered items to my address and could I ring her to arrange for them to be picked up?! I told her to update her address immediately as I was receiving a tonne of mail for her and then she sent her husband round to pick them up! Who 'accidently' gets items delivered to the completely wrong address? It just seemed so odd.

It might be your postcode?. I know there is certain areas/postcodes that Tesco will not send there drivers for their safety. So maybe Asda is the same?.

Well you would hope that the postcode checker sorts that out  x

We cant order from tesco because the previous tenant threatened to stab a delivery driver as he forgot her cigarettes & apple juice...
So we have to get next door to order for us to there address...
Xx

:haha: This made me chuckle and I bet it's something like this that's got my delivery cancelled!x

id be defo calling bk and asking them for a proper explanation or id even take myself to the stor!!!

Well I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to confrontation so I'm waiting for a response to my email first  xx

i very much doubt u will get a decent responce to ur email so u might be best off calling them.

altho when i had a big problem with asda afew yrs ago now i posted it on here and got a reply from asda on here and my complaint was sorted out.

it probably is the pervious tenant caused them problems

I find they never respond to those feed back things on their website, so rining is probably better. Hope you get to the bottom of it x

i had an asda delivery today and asked the driver what reasons would they not deliver and he said
- if the card has failed (obviously :dohh:)
- if there has been violence or threats at that address or area previously
- if they were double booked they cancel the last order

so it sounds like it was the people there before you, the delivery driver thought it was hilarious i was asking because i told him i read something online about it

Haha! Thanks for asking hun; glad someone found it funny :haha:

Yeah I'm guessing it's got to be the previous tenants then. :growlmad: x
