Ashlyn Marie!!! 11/15/08 Finally!!

Sorry it took me so long to get back on here guys! I haven't had any time!

I went in to be induced Saturday 11/15/08. I got to the hospital at 6:00 AM. They came in at 7:30 to start the induction. My cervix was not soft and thin so they used a small little pill thing and put it in my cervix to help thin it out and start contractions. It started working after about 30 minutes. I started out at 1 1/2 cm dialated. They came and checked me a couple hours later and I had dilated to 2cm. They decided to go ahead and start the pitocin and that really got things going. My contractions got more frequent and a lot stronger. He also put me on magnesium sulfate to prevent seizures because of my preeclampsia. That stuff makes you feel awful! I was hot and shaky, just miserable! They came back in and checked me around 12pm I think and I was dialated to 4cm. I tried my hardest to go as long as possible without the epidural but I had to have it, couldn't take the pain anymore. They checked me again around 4pm and I was still dialated to 4cm, hadn't changed at all. And my doctor broke my bag of waters. Then my doctor came in and checked me around 6pm and I still hadn't changed. So we started discussing about possibly having a c-section. I was in tears, nothing was going the way I wanted. He told me he'd give me one more hour and if I still hadn't changed that we would have to do a c-section. One hour went by.... still hadn't changed. So they started prepping me for surgery. My epidural had worn off a couple times by now so they kept having to give me more doses. My anesthesiologist was pinching my belly and kept asking me if I felt pain and I said yes, but he didn't believe me, he thought I just felt the pressure from it. They wheeled me back and had to give me another dose of the epidural to numb my belly, but it still didn't work. But the anesthesiologist still didn't believe me and told me I was just feeling pressure from him pinching me. So he told my doctor to go ahead and start. I FELT EVERY BIT OF IT. They had already cut me completely open before they stopped... meanwhile the whole time I was screaming in pain and tearing my husbands hand apart! lol.... Finally they told my husband he had to leave because they had to put me to sleep to finish. She was face up and coming out forehead first, my doctor said there was no way I could of had her naturally. I was so upset. I was the last one to see her and the last one to hear her cry. I'm coping better with it now but it still gets to me. I really hope the next one goes better!

That sounds awful, it may be worth going to see a solicitor about a clinical negligence case if he cut you open when you told him you could still feel it. Not sure as I only worked in clin neg for a couple of months, but it might be worth it.
You have 2/3 years before you need to make a claim so dont rush but it may be worth it, even just to get a proper apology or an explanation out of the hospital. I am shocked that that happened. You seem quite calm about it, I would be fuming!!
