I have recieved a letter this morning for my 6 year old DD to have her annual flu vaccination as she is an asthma sufferer. I have never let her have it before but I am not sure what to do

Although she has had severe astham in the pat and has been hospitalised numerous occasions, the last time this happened was 18 months ago and her asthma is now very well controlled.

Just wondering what you would do? I've heard of pros and cons for this vaccine and so am not sure. I didn't take it myself whilst I was pregnant and or will I this time.

xx

my son has asthma and I haven't given it much thought until now, but ya i think i will give him the flu injection, the truth is with severe asthmatics they have good periods and then things can flare again, i am sure you know that already ,so if the flu shot can maybe even slightly help prevent him getting flu and wheezing and all those steroids, i think its worth it

I always take my 7yr old for the flu jab, even though she was last hospitalised in 2009 and her asthma is well controlled
My LO will also have hers this year too:flow:
