Hello everyone! My question is for those of you who have done AT HOME IUI/ICI. Sooo I posted another thread where I talked about my journey. I am TTC #1 and I have an appointment scheduled with a fertility specialist for this coming Wednesday January 25th. I also currently started a new cycle (CD 3 currently). In the mean time of going to the fertility specialist I want to try one more round of at home ICI. I purchased frozen IUI vials (because I know ICI placed to close to the cervix can be dangerous! So I got IUI to be safe). Sooo for 3 cycles now (since I lost wieght) my cycles have been like clockwork 27 days long. So I used an online calculator and it's dying my predicted "fertile window" is from January 27th- February 1st. (I will also be using OPK's and CM to help pinpoint O). But my question is for those ladies who have done IUI/ICI by YOURSELF! No partner. A couple of questions (sorry if TMI):

1.) What time of day is best to take OPK's?
2.) How many Vials/samples did you use?
3.) When did you inseminate (what CD's/Days before/after O)
4.) HOW did you do it... soft cups? Syringe?
5.) Did you keep legs up? Use any type of sperm friendly lubricant?
6.) How many cycles did it take you to get pregnant?
7.) Did it work?
Thank in advanced everyone!

My back story below IF you'd like to read!:

So I am recently separated (he didn't want to continue TTC, basically he gave up!) However, I still want to be a mommy and I am still TTC on my own! I KNEW I obviously had to lose wieght before I started my journey! I used to be (402lbs horrible I know!!) I am currently 280lbs my weight will NOT budge! I have been heavy my entire life and it's always been a struggle. I don't have any officially diagnosed fertility problems but I suspect I have PCOS. Which would contribute to the weight.

When we were TTC with the sperm bank vials I did solo IUI and ICI.

1.) What time of day is best to take OPK's? I tested at around noon then again around 6pm starting from CD 9 till I detected the surge.

2.) How many Vials/samples did you use? first month we tried one vial second month one vial, 3rd try I really wanted to work so I ordered 4 vials I dont recommend ordering that many as I think it was a waste of money .

3.) When did you inseminate (what CD's/Days before/after O) with ICI vials I inseminated when I got the + OPK with IUI vials I inseminated 24 hours past the first + opk.

4.) HOW did you do it... soft cups? Syringe? my position was semi laying down with my head propped up so I could see my cervix in a lighted mirror, I inserted the speculum upside down so the handle was upright where I could move it, I held the frozen vial in my hand till it was defrosted then used a 3ml syringe to suck up the semen, put a catheter on the end of the syringe, I found my cervix and then pressed the plunger inseminating at the cervix.

5.) Did you keep legs up? I slowly removed the speculum inserted a instead cup then held legs in the air 20 minutes .

Use any type of sperm friendly lubricant? no I did baking soda finger for making my own ewcm sperm friendly though as my CM is very acidic.

6.) How many cycles did it take you to get pregnant? got a BFP at 10dpo BFP 13dpo then it faded to negative.

7.) Did it work? Nope but I only gave it 3 tries then it just got too expensive for me, plus it was frustrating that they put such a small amount in a vial, barely one ml for ICI vials and not even half a ML for the IUI vials , and the last vial I got I looked under the microscope and 50% were dead after the thaw so I decided not to try that sperm bank again.
But I hope it works for you a lot of ladies have success with frozen sperm.
