I thought I'd start us August Brides a thread so we can have a good natter, share ideas and generally get excited!

I'm samba... 28 years old engaged to DF xmas day 2007. Getting married 28th August.

woohoo i found it, im Gemma, 24 got engaged march last year and getting married 29th August 2010 im pretty much all sorted, made my own invites and saved a bomb (wanting to buy them nearly caused there to be no wedding) everything is booked up and has deposits on and just paying it all off now

Thats kind of a rough one so its a bit bent all the decent ones have been sent out...

were having a medium size wedding at the town hall were i live as neither of us our religious here is a pic of it https://images.google.co.uk/imgres?...+shields+town+hall&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&tbs=isch:1 (the south shields one)

then were having a reception in a lovely hotel and then a seperate night time party for the rest of the guests ...how about you? xx

Love your invites... Ive only done the day ones so far..... Im dreading the evening ones!

Im really lucky I work at a pub part time so theyve given us the venue for free....

Luckily the restaurant only holds 50 so we had to keep the numbers tight..

https://www.seahotel.co.uk there is the website, have a browse im not sure they have pics of the rooms set up, it is quite renound for weddings in my area its not cheap per person but its not as expensive as others we our only having about 60 people to the day. your venues look fab and well done for getting it for free from work! I used to work in a bar but not as glamourous as that one! have u got a pic of your dress ?

Your venue is lovely!! Youre right not cheap... but not overly expensive. There balloon decorations are REALLY reasonable too! Its going to look FAB!!

i tried something like yours on its gorgeous!! my colours are kinda similar to invite colours atlantis green the bm dresses are havnt got pics of them or suits but they are kind of an aline long dress with the same sweetheart neckline as my dress what about your colours?

ah they are lovely I havnt got pics of mine but I will try and get some photos at the fitting..im just waiting for my dresses to come in and im going to get a phone call for fitting.... shouldnt be long,

the suits are called prince edward - navy and farnbrough waistcoats they are having the rouch tie and hankie to match the bridesmaids

shoes I havnt got but iv got a lovely tiara and veil but have no pics of that.. I havnt got shoes yet but I think I just want some ballerina style pumps for my shoes as Im quite tall or maybe just a small heel..how about you?

eee how exciting I willm have to add you as a friend on here as our weddings are sooo close we will have to swap some wedding pics after our big day

have u booked a honeymoon? we have just chosen to go to kremar in turkey for a week to sentido beldibi its a 4* all inclusive with a private beach and turkish baths and spa we our both students atm so couldnt really afford anywere exotic will be really hot tho ... plus i can only go away for a week because bk at uni and oh will be in a new job by then so cant really request that much time off xx

hiya samba thanks fortunatly no it doesnt it should be ok, designer is going to send a size bigger dress phew! and its lace up back so can add a panel in back if needed... how r u??

GG - Im glad that youve decided to carry on with the wedding!! Im great thanks, been practising my cake making skills, for my mums birthday.

Im not going to have the roses on my wedding cake, real flowers instead.

oh wow that is really good! so your making your own cake, u got skills pregnancy is going ok, on tenderhooks until scan on saturday tho very nervous as had niggles and cramps and got a nasty uti.. I really dunno whats gonna happen with my dress im praying a bigger size will fit me xxx

Thats great you got an early scan!! Is that Private or NHS??? Im sure that the dress will work out fine!!! You'll look GORGEOUS!!! You'll be able to say 'we do' instead of I do!!

GG - I dont blame you!!! My FS has pretty much promised me an early scan due to MC and our troubles conceiving... if he doesnt keep his promise though we'll defo get an early one... maybe just after 8 weeks as thats when I MC'd.

My ring arrived yesterday!!! will get some piccies for you soon.

sambi im no longer an august bride... im bumped up to may bride .. had to shove everything forward and tie everthing together for 23rd May! eeek not even 2 month away ... stress!! im so glad everything had deposits on and have all been able to move!! xx
