Awaiting amnio results

After our nuchal bloods we were offered an amnio as our risk was 1:15. We had an amnio a couple of weeks ago and have had the results for 3 of the genes linked to Edwards, Downes and Pattua. These came back very quickly and were negative.

The last few weeks have dragged so much. We had to wait a week and a half for the amnio and now we've waited over two weeks for the rest of the results. They are checking out the other 18 genes.

The results are due this week sometime and the wait is becoming more agonising as the days pass.

Keep your fingers crossed for us folks.

yes. The letter was very general. It didn't list what had been tested for only said that no major chromosonal problems were found.

It was a real relief. The last month has been torture.

I have to go for a special 23 week scan that checks out the blood flow through the placenta so that will be the next milestone.
